"Marie? Where are you?" I call out in the house, it's empty and she couldn't have gone far.

"Oh, I'm up here. This bedroom is beautiful - I tax it." Her voice echoes down the stairs and bounce off of every peeling wallpapered wall. Crap, I should have known.

"Well, my room is going to look beautiful-er!"

"How did you figure that one out?"

"It'll be mine - duh!" I giggle out, not realising the door still being open and two men walking slowly up it. This is my time to run. So I do. My legs work like clockwork as my feet pound against every other step; any way to get up faster, right?

"What was all that noise about?" Marie's head pops around from the master bedroom at the front of the house. Lowering my voice, I peek over the banister.

"There's two men walking up the path." This gains a chuckle from Marie.

"Shannon, you are 26. I think you can handle them. You're not 14 anymore."

"I am at heart baby." I reply, I do not wish to communicate with the strangers.

"Ugh. Fine!" Marie slams her bedroom door behind her and lightly jogs down the stairs. After placing her hands on her hips, and leaning on her right leg, the men finally reach the door.

"Hey! I'm Oliver and this is James - we noticed you were moving in so we came over to welcome you to this... neighborhood." The man with black hair says, boldly coming even closer to her.

"Marie!" I screech and run down the stairs. "We don't know you!" I scream in their faces. In an orderly manor, I run circles around them, screaming. I only stop when Marie's hands come crashing down on my arms, forcing me to stop moving.

"Shannon! I thought we were over this. They're not going to hurt you."

"Now, Marie; you can't be sure of that." I waggle my finger at her, Oliver laughs a bit. My eyes divert from Marie's and I get a proper look at him. His hair is all shiny, he has perfect complexion - which is strange for a guy - and his voice is super cute. Out of the corner of my eye, I notice Marie checking out James. I look James over once. He might be considered handsome, but he's not my type, if you know what I mean.
