Dean woke with a jolt as he heard a high-pitched scream from downstairs. He raced out of bed and downstairs, thinking something awful was happening to his ex-angel boyfriend, Castiel. He reached the dining room and saw Cas looking out the glass backyard door, sky blue eyes wide with wonder. Dean saw snow outside. About a foot of it on the ground, and still coming. Without taking his gaze away from the snow, Cas said in a panicked voice,"D-Dean, there is white stuff outside." Dean, knowing this was probably terrifying for Cas-considering he had never seen snow before-stifled a laugh.
"It's called snow, Cas." He said calmly, trying to smooth Cas' bed head. "It won't hurt us." Cas looked at Dean.
"Can I touch it?" He asked in a shaky voice. Dean nodded. Cas slid open the door and ran outside. Being only in a t-shirt, boxers, and bare feet, he quickly ran back inside.
"It's cold!" He exclaimed in a high voice. This time, Dean chuckled. He pulled the ex-angel into his body and kissed him gently on the nose. Cas laughed and kissed Dean on the lips. Dean breathed in Cas' scent: a strange mix of an ocean breeze and aftershave.
"I love you, angel." Dean said, resting his chin on Cas' head.
"I love you too, Dean."
