The Day She Became the Malevolent Demon Lord

Chapter 25

With Nadia facing Astranul in his palace, Lu Bu remains at the plaza fighting off waves of Ant Soldiers. However, the latter seems displeased knowing Astranul's underlings have yet to attack him.

"Spineless cowards, you dare stay far from me! For your impudence, I shall come to you!" Lu Bu yelled and starts cutting down the Ant Soldiers to pursue the Underlings,

This scared them to the bone as the mighty warrior sets his sights on them. In retaliation, they ordered more Ant Soldiers to block Lu Bu's path. As the numbers stacked, Lu Bu's progress in his pursuit stagnated and some of the Underlings were prepared to run.

But before they did just that, they soon hear a loud bell toll echoing across the colony. Everyone except Lu Bu, covered their ears and the latter glanced at the night sky.

Several bell tolls followed, and Lu Bu smirked as it ended.

Astranul's Palace

The clash between the two leaders continued and severely damaged the entire area in their wake. Nadia sustained damage that she could easily heal while Astranul has yet to be injured by her blade or her legs.

But she realized the trick behind this feat, "You're using [Premonition], aren't you?"

"How annoyingly perceptive of you, child," Astranul remarked, "I, Indeed, possess such power and avoided your measly attacks before they even laid a scratch on me,"

"Such power does fit your caliber as a [Divine Beast], but that and your previous tricks won't influence the outcome of this fight," Nadia said,

Astranul mockingly scoffed as he whirled his curved sword, "You believe that you will win against me? You haven't been able to lay a scratch on me. How are you possibly going to win,"

"It's because I know how this all ends," Nadia revealed, and what followed was the sound of the tolling bell,

Astranul was confused by this and looked for the source of this bell. But gets distracted when Nadia rushed towards him and blocks the oncoming attack, "The Bell Toll signals an end to your reign, and the Region will be free,"

Astranul stares into Nadia's eyes as if he was peering through her mind. Moments later, he gasped as if he had learned her intentions and expressed shock in his very eyes.

Colony Streets

With the bell tolling above, both Ants and Astranul's men gazed above the sky and wondered what was going on. Before long, some of the ants began to scream and the Underlings grew concerned over their safety.

Before long, the Ants started screaming as the mutation sets in. They've now gained Sharper Claws, Stronger Teeth, and Larger Bodies at the cost of their sanity as they all went berserk and targeted all foreign creatures; particularly Astranul's Men.

Most of Astranul's men were caught unprepared; many were torn apart and eaten alive by the very people they bullied. Surprisingly, some of the ants retained their thoughts and only acted aggressively against the men who abused them for so long.

As for the ants that have yet to mutate, they were ignored but this conflict inspired them to follow their fellow ants as they grabbed their tools and fought against Astranul's men. It was chaos from that point on, and the surface wasn't the only affected area...

Below the Colony

As soon as the commotion above was reported to the forces below, the slave collars of the worker ants have been undone and all magic that binds them to Astranul's control have been dispelled.
