Home Stay (Part IX) Is Truth True

Renji honestly couldn't piece together what was going on. The fukutaicho of the sixth division did know Kira of all people just threatened to double dose the young taicho in order to knock him out. Momo of course wouldn't stop as her anger was getting the better of her. "I'm delusional? He's dead!"

"Taicho isn't dead. I told you I have proof." The red head Shinigami flinched suddenly when he saw a tear streak down the young taicho's face.

"Hey..."

"You don't know anything about me Hinamori."

"I know why you left granny all alone!"

Renji watched as the young taicho's head shot up. A great level of discomfort came over him as he saw the look in the young taicho's face. He watched as Toshiro reached out to tug on Kira's sleeve. "Go ahead and give me the double dose to knock me out."

Kira's eyes quickly widened as did Hinamori's. "Hitsugaya Taicho..." The blond haired Shinigami shook his head. "Hitsugaya Taicho, that was to keep you from causing problems and perhaps doing something which would aggravate your injury. It wasn't to let you run away from the situation."

"I'm really tired. Please." Toshiro refused to look anyone in the eye. Hinamori simply sat back in complete shock.

Renji watched as the young man let out a sigh and headed to the bags to put together a dose of medicine before returning to the young taicho. "This is a different kind of medicine which is for helping you sleep."

"Thank you. Thank you for the things you said too."

The red head fukutaicho relaxed slightly as Kira's eyes widened at what the boy said. A smile crept across the third division fukutaicho's face. "You're welcome Hitsugaya Taicho."

The red head fukutaicho watched as the young taicho lay down so he could fall asleep. Tatsukichi's voice caused Renji to turn his head to look at the boy. "We should be gong Ayumi."

The fukutaicho of the sixth quickly grabbed his shoulder. "Hold on. I've some questions for you that I would like for you to answer."

"I already have the answers you're likely looking for Abarai." Kira stood up. "We should go somewhere where we can talk."

"I'm coming..."

Kira let out a sigh. "You should stay here. You need to ask your brother the truth about why he left your granny alone."

"I know the truth. The fact he wanted to avoid the subject says what I think is true."

Renji let out a sigh as Tatsukichi and Ayumi slipped out of the room. "Do you? Is that the reason he wanted to avoid the subject, or is it because you don't ever listen to him." The fukutaicho of the sixth watched as Momo's eyes widened. "You certainly wasn't listening to him when he said his former taicho was alive."

"How is him believing his taicho is still alive any different from me believing Aizen wasn't a traitor?"

Kira let out a sigh. "There was never any proof one way or another that his taicho was dead, but now he says he has proof that his former taicho is alive. When it came to Aizen there was plenty of proof that he betrayed us. Could we perhaps talk about this later? There is something important I need to talk to Renji about something. We'll go and get something to eat for when Hitsugaya Taicho wakes up. The dose I gave him should only knock him out for an hour or two."

Renji followed the other fukutaicho out until they came to a place which was quiet. "You said you had answers."

"The first thing I'm going to say is I'm having problems believing what I've found out. I also don't have any proof. Goodness knows if Hinamori heard what I said she would demand proof beyond what I've been able to find." Kira sat down so his back was against a tree.

The red haired fukutaicho did the same. "What is it you've come to find out?"

The fukutaicho of the third division took a deep breath, but didn't speak. "I found out Ichimaru Gin is the father of Hitsugaya Taicho."

Renji felt his throat tighten, and one of his eyes twitched. "Are you serious? Hitsugaya died and came to Soul Society. He's quite adamant about his fact."

"The villagers are quite adamant that Ichimaru Gin dropped Hitsugaya Taicho off as an infant."

The fukutaicho of the sixth division leaned forward. "You're kidding me. They must be mistaken."

"You were going to ask why the bullying stopped after Hitsugaya Taicho nearly drowned. The villager I talked to claims Ichimaru killed a man."

Renji picked up two small stones and rolled them together. "That..." The red headed fukutaicho shook his head. "I'm honestly not understanding what you're saying. Your implying Ichimaru Gin cares about someone. Are you sure that your not letting the fact he was your former taicho go to your head?"

Kira leaned forward and let out a sigh. "Hitsugaya Taicho has enough issues without finding out that man is his father. There is also no telling what would happen to his relationship with Hinamori if she should find out. Look at how Ichimaru's relationship with him has strained his relationship with his own village."

The sixth division fukutaicho's mouth clamped shut as he thought carefully about what Kira said. "I'm still wrapping my head around the idea of that man caring about someone. They've got to be mistaken." Renji felt his hands tighten around his arms. "You do know we need to say something of this to the taicho of the Gotei Thirteen."

"And what of Hitsugaya Taicho?"

Renji closed his eyes. "I don't know."

"Perhaps we should confront Ichimaru first before going to the taicho?"

"Are you crazy Kira? He's not exactly someone I would want to go and talk to."

"I told you that I really didn't have proof."

"The villagers told you. What more proof do you need?"

Kira looked away. "I don't know. You yourself said it's hard to believe Ichimaru cares about anybody but himself. There are also gaps in their story. They said Ichimaru was the one to leave the child in the old woman's care, and they say he was the one who killed the man who tried drowning Hitsugaya Taicho. They didn't though actually say Ichimaru was his father. He could be... I don't know. His brother. Except Hitsugaya Taicho's more like Matsumoto then he is Ichimaru."

"Ran-chan?" Renji's eyes widened. "She's his mother? Wouldn't she know? Actually... it is rather weird she doesn't know anything about what the villagers have said."

"That right there is the other problem."
