As usual... Odasaku and Dazai are just hanging out at the Lupin bar, still waiting for Ango... But... There was something off about them...
"Ne Odasaku... You are oddly quiet today... Say something, will you?" Dazai asked worryingly but playfully.
Odasaku turned to Dazai and just gave a soft smile.
Dazai stared blankly at Odasaku, feeling like he was on guard... He was not really sure why he felt this way, but he knew he was feeling worried...
"Something is bothering you, is it not?" He asked, breaking out of the silence with his voice.
But once again silence. Odasaku wasn't answering but still, he was just giving Dazai a soft smile
The man sighed in frustration...
"Is it me or something?" He asked, moving closer to Odasaku, to see if he could read anything about his expression, feeling quite worried at this point.
"You don't need to tell me if you don't want to, but I just want you to know, I'm here for you..." He said as he moved a little closer in the seat, just to make sure he could get a better grip on what his friend was feeling, at least a little.
Odasaku just patted Dazai's head. Still, Odasaku was silent and just giving Dazai a soft smile while patting his head, suddenly someone went into the Lupin bar, it was Ango.
"Oh finally..." Dazai muttered as he breathed a sigh of relief.
"Ango, my man, where were you all this time?! We've been waiting for you!" He said as he stood up while greeting Ango with a pat on the shoulder.
Ango got startled as Dazai greeted him. "Sigh... Dazai you still come here even tho of what happened? Wait- Did you say "we've"...? But there's no one here but you since I came here"
Dazai raised an eyebrow as he turned to look at Ango..."What do you mean 'there's no one here'?" He asked, clearly a bit confused by his friend's words. As far as he was aware, there was definitely someone there besides him, and he was just sitting on the seat next to him..."Did you hit yourself or something?" He asked, concerned for Ango at that point. Was he really seeing things, after all?
Ango sighed as he knew the situation Dazai is in. "Oh my bad, sorry I didn't see Odasaku earlier since you've been blocking him from my sight" Ango chuckled and gave a feint smile "Now let's drink?" he asked Dazai softly.
"Blocking him? What are you talking about?" Dazai asked Ango, still a bit confused by how his friend was acting, but nonetheless, he was curious about what was going to happen, so he nodded.
"Right! Let's drink!" He agreed as he approached the bar, ordering three beers.
"Cheers!" He said as he raised his cup towards Ango, trying to see if the others were going to do the same.
"Cheers!" Ango smiled softly as he raised his cup towards Dazai's. Then Dazai looked towards Odasaku who was sitting on his left. Dazai noticed that Odasaku still hasn't picked up his glass full of whiskey.
"Odasaku!" Dazai called out, trying to get the man's attention.
"You forgot to drink, my guy!" He said as he looked at him, before nudging him slightly, hoping to get the attention of his friend. After all, who wouldn't join in this toast?
"Are you not feeling well or something?" He asked Odasaku, as his attention went back to him, raising an eyebrow at the glass of whiskey he had in front of him, that he didn't touch.
Ango suddenly tapped Dazai's back to get his attention, "Dazai, I think Odasaku doesn't want to drink for now..." Ango smiled softly while talking to Dazai.
"What? Are you sure?" Dazai asked Ango, raising an eyebrow as his attention went back to his friend, still feeling quite worried for him.
"Odasaku, what's wrong?" He asked, turning to look at his friend, trying to understand why he wasn't drinking with them. Surely, he'd join in the toast, after all, that's what friends do... Wasn't it?
Dazai glanced over at Odasaku... Something was not right. The other man was not drinking, and he did not say a word throughout all this time! He was starting to get even more worried about this whole situation...
Dazai took a sip of his drink, still glancing at Odasaku, hoping to catch any glimpse of how he might be feeling... Or something! Just...something... that might give him a clue about what was going on!
"Odasaku... Can you please say something?!" Dazai suddenly asked in frustration, as his tone of voice was changing from a more calm and relaxed one, to a more angry and aggressive one, now worried that his friend wasn't replying to him.
"Are you feeling unwell?" He asked more softly, as he was now concerned that maybe Odasaku had gotten himself sick... Because that'd be enough to scare him and make his heart break.
"Please, say something..." He said, now feeling desperate to get an answer out of his friend.
And then finally...Odasaku said something but...It was just a simple "Hm?" and after that, Odasaku smiled softly...Again.
Dazai sighed in relief when Odasaku finally spoke, just breathing in a bit to relieve himself.
"Thank god you're still alright..." He muttered, still looking at his friend with an anxious look on his face. The man was silent once more as he just drank his beer, feeling concerned still...
"Odasaku, are you sure you are okay?" He asked, this time more softly, placing a hand on his shoulder, trying to convey that he was really worried about him, and asking him again was just his way of showing that concern for his friend.
Odasaku nodded as a sign that he was ok... But something was really off... Suddenly Ango patted Dazai's shoulder again to get his attention "I'm sure he's okay." Ango said with a warm smile.
Dazai nodded as he heard Ango's words, before sighing in relief once more as a sigh of relief escaped from his mouth.
"I guess you're right, Ango..." He said, still turning back to look at Odasaku. Yet, he knew that something was still not quite well with his friend and he could feel that too...
"But do just let me know if something is bothering you, okay?" He asked Odasaku then, just to be sure that his friend would tell him if anything was wrong.
