Paryushana is the most important annual holy event for Jains and is usually celebrated in August or September in Hindi calendar Bhadrapad Month's Shukla Paksha. Jains increase their level of spiritual intensity often using fasting and prayer/meditation to help we Jain's fast during this month with utmost devotion.

Litika: Paryushan Parva is the king of all festivals for the whole Jain community living across the globe. Thus, it is also known as Parva Dhiraj. Every Jain tries to follow the basic principles of Jainism. We try to fast for whole day till the month is over for svetambars it's 8 days and digambara it's 10 days We all live a religious life, practice penance and make strong efforts for purification of soul. Sometimes people fast for 30 days.
