The relief hits me a like a crack to my gut. A HAPPY crack to my gut, which is a nice change by the way.
I , Stormy, Callisto, Serendip had finally escaped her captives evil clutches. For the heroine cannot live without her happily ever after right?Wrong. I sigh deeply, the REAL crack to my gut already strikes me.
This happiness will always be temporary. Because however much the world of magic and the (I'm guessing) cozy halls of Hogwarts hides me, however many letters from my family I choose to ignore I am forced to go back yet again. Two months of summer back at the house will seem like an age. I groan internally
Though I should look on the bright sides. For example however cruel, however mean, arrogant or snobby I choose to behave this year I can always blame that on my parents for raising me this way. Plus the fact I am most definitely getting into slytherin like literally all my family before him. This is my first year but I am SO confident!
My train of thought is suddenly ruptured when something sharp hits my side. I whip around to see a girl carrying a suitcase and when she turns her head briefly to apologise, I shock.
She's... not English. I mean sure, apparatus whatever. But seriously Asia? Don't they already have a designated school for that.
'Sorry!' She frowns fast turning away. 'Wait' I tug her hood back and she helps in sunrise.
'Did you come by flying carpet?'. She looks lost and I hold in a laugh. 'You know that part of the continent wouldn't you need some type of magical rug to transport your kind from that country. It's basic knowledge or are you slow?'.
She blinks slowly, confused "what?"
"Oh perhaps you took a genie, maybe the rug was too expensive for you? Even though it is a rag. Perhaps you don't speak English, and that would be just embarrassing wouldn't it" I smiled wide showing of my canines.
The girl however firmly turned towards me hands on her hips, with a sharp expression "that would've been exceptionally humiliating for you actually" her tone was clipped "I don't know how you English girls do it here but back home where we have common sense that would count as racism actually, perhaps add that to your brief vocabulary"
she turned sharply with a huff and I stared open mouthed and stunned. No one has ever talked back to me like that.
"Also your tie is inside out" she said already halfway up the train step. The hogwarts express tooted loud enough for me to hide my little gasp of surprised as I realised my ties was inside out and I, Stormy Serendip had already been completely roasted by that morsel of a girl.
It came even more as a shock to me realising walking down the carriages I was looking for her. I was interested sure, she was smart but recollecting myself I remembered what my mother would've said if I retold that story to her.
'You are so weakly , you would let an oriental walk all over you and our good name, in the first hour of sending you to school? Do you know what grandpa Orion would say to you? Dissopointmest clouds you once you let your guard down'".
Those words I had conjured up so sharply left me with a pang. Good mood lasted too short huh?I walked into a carriage full of easily named pure bloods, some with parents good friends of my father and knew this was a good start.
They weren't nice, and I noticed they never kept their guard down. Ugly eyes shielding thoughts and I signed internally. Keeping a guard up can come to be awfully exhausting but my mother words kept coming to mind, knowing well that I had to keep this up if I ever wanted to look good in her eyes.
God this was only the first hour on the supposed happiest day of my life and I'm already thinking about my family. I rolled my eyes which earned me annoyed looks from the slytherins. I knew my name came as a sign of power to them but I still wanted to maintain respect to these bimbos I suppose.
The girl from before walks easily down the corridor catching my eye immediately my stare twitching to follow her. Her walk was so lazy and carefree I couldn't help my envy. She stopped by the candy cart and I used the time to properly examine her.
Though she was an oriental she was a pretty one, her hair was dark and clumped in a fringe around her eyes which seemed to be made out of emeralds. They shone almost tricksy. I couldn't STAND tricksy. I couldn't stand her now that I come to it. She's rebellious, she looks different, she doesn't belong. She thinks she's better than me when she's obviously below me just like everyone else.
I hate her stupid hair and eyes and annoying easiness about her. God I hated her.
She saw me staring and raised an eyebrow in question. I scowled like I had never before.
That was the day I began hating Minh Chan.
