I scrolled endlessly trying to find my aunt's number. It took me forever. Probably because I forgot I have her number under "snitch".. Yea I don't wanna get into that story right now just know my family is very messed up. I click on her contact debating if I should or should not press call.My thumb hit the call button and I knew it was too late to turn back now. The phone line rang 3 times. Each ring I became more impatient, I started tapping my foot on the concrete below me to distract myself, yet that wasn't working.
"Hello," I heard from my phone. I almost fell over due to shock. If I'm being honest I didn't expect her to answer the phone. My mom told my family many false stories about me resulting in them all hating me in the end. But, I don't care, no one ever wants to hear my side of the story.
"Hello" I say lightly back into the phone my voice barely audible. I'm scared she's gonna say 'no melissa you can't live with me' or even just hang up the phone in my face.
"Why are you calling me so late? '' Her accent was booming in my ear more than usual. " I uhh" I pause wondering if I should continue. " I need somewhere to stay" the line went silent. I pulled my phone away from my ear to see if she hung up. She didn't."Hello" I say into the phone once again, not only begging but pleading for her to say yes because at this point so many mosquitoes were biting me. "Where are you?" She said after taking a long sigh. "Im by the shops"
I say now kicking my feet back and forth as I sat on a bench. "Hurry up and get here, i'll leave the door unlocked we will talk about this in the morning" I shake my head then remembering she can't see me "Ok". the line hung up. I stood to my feet grabbing my things and began heading down the road. It's only a 10 minute walk so I'll be there in no time.
