things have been tight lately. with the atcu on their backs, trying to build up the secret warriors, lash attacking inhumans yet sparing her, and may leaving. except may is back and things still feel tense. so here daisy was at 2 in the morning, hunched on the kitchen counter with her laptop, trying to come up with a visual theory of who lash is.

"aren't you supposed to be sleep?" may says, scaring daisy and causing her to rapidly jump up before realizing who was there.

"may", daisy states and takes a deep, relieving breath, "what are you doing up?" she questions back, attempting to be snarky but knowing it failed and may can definitely tell

despite the slight awkwardness of this, may continues on and begins to make her tea. daisy attempts to do the same, going back to looking at her laptop but making silent glances at may in between, hoping she didn't notice. she began to dissociate a bit, thinking about when she first met woman and how her perspective of may is so different now. she never thought she would ended up missing the woman back then but now daisy's just glad she's in the same room with may even though they aren't interacting. she love it so much she didn't noticed that may was sliding her a cup of tea.

"you didn't answer my question." may states, and daisy can feel the woman's eyes on her

"you didn't answer mine." daisy replies with smirk, a fake smirk both she and may know it

"i don't know, i can't sleep there's too much going on with practically everything. the atcu, new inhumans, lash and everything he's doing plus we don't even know who he is or if he's a he." daisy rambles and looks at may, feeling that she's boring her, "but enough about me, how was your vacation with dr. garner, though yours seem to be very longer." daisy says with a little tease in her voice and yet may shows no change in her face.

"you know you don't have to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders, right?" may says ignoring daisy's comment must to her disdain of wanting to talk about this. "we're a team for a reason, we'll handle it together." may continues

"except it is my fault, if my mom didn't steal the terrigen and i idiotically decided to quake it into the ocean, the outbreak would never have happened. and then the atcu wouldn't exist and lash wouldn't be killing new inhumans as soon as they turn." daisy says and before may can respond coulson suddenly appears

"skye, some things are inevitable and this was probably one of them, it's most definitely not your fault." coulson says and sits down next to the two women, whom look at each other with a slight smirk on their faces, leaving coulson a little perplexed, "what?" he questions

"it's daisy." both daisy and may respond

"it's surprising that you've known about the name change longer, yet she's able to keep up with it." daisy says with a smile

"you think i'm that similar to him?" may questions and daisy chuckles, while coulson looks at them with slight shock

"wow, i don't know if i should take offense to that." coulson says and daisy smiles at him sheepishly

"you know, your mother could've planning that for years and you were just a piece in her game as was your father. you wear your heart on your sleeve, that's something you should be proud of, don't let this average chaos mess you up." coulson states with daisy staring directly at him, with a smile rising on her face. she's grown so much, he thought, he just wished he could see it.

"sometimes i just miss the times before my powers, when it was less crazy." daisy says and both coulson and may look at her confused

"it became crazy the moment you stepped foot on the bus." coulson says and may nods in the agreement, while daisy gasps

"now that's in agreement, can we all go to bed." coulson starts before rolling up his pajama sleeve to look at his watch, "it's 2:45 am." he states

"only you would wear a watch to sleep ac." daisy says before slowly getting up and started walking towards the bunks, but stops and turns around when she doesn't feel anyone behind her.

"come on, we're right behind you." may says before putting her hand on daisy's shoulder, a comfort that she doesn't push away.
