Cordale and James had always been beside each other. In grade school the two with their sticky fingers, and koolaid stained lips would walk, hand in hand. In middle school, they sat beside each other in all of their classes; talking about video games, and occasionally throwing paper wads at the unsuspecting teachers. The two were never really interested in girls, and dating in general. They preferred the company of each other in front of a huge screen TV, playing the latest Call Of Duty. They could finish each others sentences (and sandwiches... and burgers... and ice cream cones... and...) They'd spend summers together, unable to bare the separation. Roasting marshmellows and weenies on a huge fire was simply perfect for the two, after a long day of swimming and enjoying the hot sun. During High School, they shared a locker; and Cordale even wore Jame's Letterman sometimes. Although being the leading quarterback on the football team, James hadn't had a girlfriend. Cordale; captain of the chess team, hadn't had anyone either. They'd been asked about it before, but they'd simply respond that they were waiting on the right one to come along. A respectful answer, but deep inside they knew; they belonged to each other. Being best friends, they'd typically tell each other everything... everything but this. Cordale came to terms with being gay long before James did. The instant boner he'd pop being around strong, sweaty, men became harder to hide. Cordale would swallow the lump in his throat, trying to imagine his dead grandfather's decomposed balls. Anything to kill the boner. Most of the time it worked... but sometimes, it only made him harder. In the fear of being rejected by his best friend, Cordale began to stress eat. The male would eat anything he could find, growing wider, thicker, and blacker. Little did he know; James was doing the same. By the end of their Junior year, the boys were miserable. Cordale couldn't hardly even stand when being near James; his foot had gave out due to the stress of being a young man in this world. James would try to help the black man get around, but couldn't stop thinking about his soft skin every time he touched it. The end of their Senior year, there they stood beside each other, with a diploma in hand. They gave each other a loving, sweet smile, full of happiness and hope. That's when they simultaneously noticed the sparkle in their eyes. They were in love with each other. The diplomas dropped to the floor with a soft thud. They connected their lips, feeling overwhelmed with joy. The rest of the graduating class of 2018 cheered loudly. James and Cordale had never wanted anything as perfect as this. During that summer, they exchanged promise rings, and was sent off to college. After many years of working for a degree, they were successful. Cordale had got a high paying job as a dentist, and James had wondered his way into being a doctor. They made love with each other every night. Words couldn't express how much they loved each other. Their lives continued on without a hitch. They decided to adopt a few children and love them unconditionally. A beautiful daughter and son, Monica and Tyqiggle. Time seemed to fly by, watching their babies grow into young adults. Before Cordale and James new it, they had extremely round bellies, thick thighs, grey hair, and wrinkly skin. Life was perfect until they had showed signs of diabetes and perhaps AIDS. They visited a professional doctor, who then confirmed it to be true. The family was devastated. After a year of stress, they layed together in their soft bed. Cordale ran his fingers threw James' long, grey, nipple hair. Jame's ran small circles with his fingers around Cordale's skin. They knew time grew closer for them to go. Cordale could feel his heart pound, it was time. He leaned over to James and said, "and with a kiss, I die," placing a small peck on Jame's frail lips. They exchanged their vows before saying an emotional "I love you," and died peacefully, together. Cordale and James had always been beside each
