The Freak Show

Chapter 1: The circus freak

A long time ago in 1985 there were two brothers named Caleb and Chester. They were very close, then one day they both decided they wanted to run their very own circus show! So they saved about just enough money for the show. It was the first ever circus to open where they lived, so millions of people came. it was going as planned but then one night people got a little bored of the shows so people stopped coming and one day they got a note that read "if you don't start getting people to come to your show again, we're gunna have to take down your show" the brothers were both shocked "This can't be happening , we've come so far" Chester said, grabbing the note of the wall, but Caleb seemed more irritated at this than Chester they both did not say a word as they went back into the tent. A few days passed and it was starting to get a little better, but still it was a small amount of people, so Caleb decided to do something about it. The next day Caleb came rushing through the door and shouted " I have done it!" Chester then turned around quickly shocked by the sudden noise "y-you did what?" Chester  said still shocked by Caleb's sudden yelling. Caleb looked at him his eyes shining with excitement  "I have found a way to make are show more exciting!''  Chester got up from his chair and walked towards him "what do you mean more exciting? " Chester looked at him with confusion "I mean I have a way to get more people to come to are shows" Chester stood in front of Caleb with a puzzled look on his face "is there something wrong Chester?" Chester looked up at him "no just..thinking". The next day had come and the brothers had put up a new poster saying that there was going to be a new entertainment featuring the most talented performers and actors from across the world, Chester stood behind the curtains as he watched people come in, he held his hat in his hand moving it around nervously he did not how well this was going to go. But just then he remembered something (wait, were's Caleb?) He searched the whole tent But He was nowhere to be found, just then a shadow appeared at the back of the tent.... It was Caleb!!  Except he looked a bit different.... Chester had walked over to were he was "we're were you?" Caleb looked at him with one eyebrow raised "didn't I tell you were I was going?" He said confused by what Chester said "no, I don't remember you telling me anything" said Chester with a puzzled look on his face. "But I swear I tol- wait, did you not hear anything I told you?!" Caleb shouted as he put one hand on his face "you really have to get better at listening" he sighed as he put on his hat "well, it's kinda hard to hear you when your 2 feet away from me" Chester said crossing his arms, Caleb sighed "I wasn't even that far, your just being dramatic" he said trying to remember what he was going to say "anyways, I wanted to show you the new performers" caleb said as he walked outside behind the tent Chester followed him outside. Caleb stopped and pointed to a small group standing near the other tents, when Chester had taken a closer look at the small group he tended noticed that they looked a bit different then he imagined them to look, it was as if they were already part of a curious before this one. The show had just started people were waiting as the lights went out but one light shown high above, on a round shaped stand high up in the middle of the two top rows there stood Caleb. He walked into the spotlight and spoke with a joyful like voice "ladies and gentlemen boys and girls we welcome you to the most wonderful show you have ever seen" he smiled as the crowd cheered, once the clapping stopped Caleb spoke again "ladies and gentleman welcome to the circus of freaks!" The crowd clapped but soon it was silent, Everyone looked up in amazement as a ring like hoop lowered down a woman was hanging from the hoop, the people watched as the woman did amazing tricks no one could do. The show went on for hours featuring different performances, when the show was over the people got up and left except for some as Caleb and Chester waved goodbye a group of three teenagers came up to them, Chester had noticed them coming towards them "um, excuse me?" A girl with blonde hair said as she looked at both Caleb and Chester "yes? Is there any thing you need" Caleb said looking at the kids "we were wondering if there was going to be another show happening soon, and when it would be" a boy with short brown hair said with a smile on his face. "We'll yes there will be other show, but we don't know when they will be" said Caleb now facing the children "oh! Ok well the show was amazing and I hope to see more like this" said the girl be hind the boy with brown hair "well that's great you liked it" Chester said waving goodbye to The kids as they left with excitement. the brother's packed up for the night and went home, when Chester had fallen asleep Caleb decided to take a walk down the street to a nearby library The library was quiet and empty it only had a few people there as Caleb looked at books he stumbled across one peculiar book, but the book did not look like other books in the library. The book was different it was way more darker then the others it had an all black cover on it with strange writing written on it but it seemed to have no author written on it, he grabbed the book curious of what it was about but when he opened a strange feeling came over him, he felt a bit weird... a smile ran across his face as a but the smile shown on his face was different it wasn't the type of smile you usually see on a person...it was the type of smile you get when you had the most brilliant idea except this idea was going to change everything including the relationship between friends and family.....
