Thursday came rolling in with a punch to my already pretty nerve wrestling week.  Football, why football?! Why couldn't it be something like a play, or-or even simpler than that!
Thinking about to Joan's kind offer was the only thing motivating me to do keep at this ridiculous plan.  What's our team even called?
The Clones?
Well I guess that would be the only fitting name huh..

" You've barely touched your toast, something on your mind kid?" Your father, who was the prime reason why the family moved to begin with due to his work assignment, was looking at you with a mug to his lips taking a gulp of his usual morning coffee.  Before you lived in just a simple town, no clones, no madness. Your parents recently decided to move us because of your father's job relocation. He worked in some construction company you couldn't remember the name of at the moment. All you had in mind was sour thoughts of this place.
" No I just kind of have plans on Friday with a friend-", I looked away and picked up my kinda burnt, buttery toast to take a small bite.
" Wow already making friends! Who is it? Some boy? Haha-"

" Dad, no." Grumbling with the average morning voice that reeked the morning with frustration. I didn't have the patience to be teased nor have the time to listen to your dad ramble about boys for the next minute.

" Well I'm happy you're going, I'll make sure Mom knows too. You need social interaction, highschool is gonna end on a real low note if you don't try kid."

I shrugged and ate the rest of the toast then got up to make way to yet another day in that federal pri- highschool haaa.

   " Heading Out!"

Making it to  school with my shoulders practically to my ears with tenseness filling every muscle. I curse my parents for doing this to me, bringing me here. Clone High wasn't terrible and wasn't it the reason why I wasn't happy. It was the fact I'm the most nervous little creature to ever walk this planet.
Everyone was walking along the halls, some faces starting to look a bit familiar- maybe some flashbacks to middle school history class with those big books filled with historical figures faces? Possibly. The noise and buzz of voices were soothing blocking out any irritated thoughts from this morning.

Ghandi and Abe were conversating in the main area leading into the main lockers.  This just made me wonder when Joan will show up, she's probably the closest female friend I have. Ghandi quickly looked down the hall spotting you almost instantly,
"Hey hey! New person! Hey!"

This soon also caught Abe's attention, looking down my way to wave with a small naive smile. Him being so tall I imagine he had to look down at everyone.
"I have a name Ghandi, It's (y/n)..", putting on a joking smile and making way to the two guys with exhaustion still dragging on my shoes.

"Riiigghhht you sure it wasn't (other version of your name or badly pronounced )??"

The horrible version making you burst into a small laugh, it only made sense that he got it wrong- this is my second day in Clone High. Abe seemed to realize someone with a small perk up in his usual bad posture. "Hey guys I see Cleo, got to go!" He barely finished his sentence before walking over to the same black haired girl that despised you on the first day.
"What does he see in her?" You could tell she was the stereotypical popular girl but everything about her screamed mean and powerful.
"Ya know, I don't know but he's been obsessed with her all summer and now  they're together." Ghandi didn't seem too happy with their relationship, I could assume it had something to do with her getting between his friendship with Abe. "I'm sorry man", I felt pretty bad for Ghandi, him and Abe seemed to be great friends.
The bell rang suddenly announcing everyone or- clone to make way to their first period. Parting ways with Ghandi- I made it to the gym class where I knew Joan would be. Entering the locker room smelt and felt like being punched with cheap perfume and sweat/hormones. Getting into my usual gym attire and applying enough deodorant to smell like one, I made way into the gym to find Joan.
She was standing there alone, her expression didn't seem happy or content as her usual look. Joan was the casual goth chick everyone knew in highschool, so it only made sense for everyone to assume she was always on the darker side of emotions. But today seemed a bit off- I mean I've barely gotten to know her though she seemed pretty upset about something.
I walked up to her and gave a look of concern, "Hey Joan you okay?"
She perked up- well kinda jumped at you randomly speaking to her and looked at you with a half smile.

"Yeah I'm just kinda going through something right now"

"Mind if I ask what's wrong?"

Joan looked away and appeared to be thinking about if she should tell you or not. Her gaze falling on Abe who was just across the gym with Ghandi doing who knows what. "I kinda have a thing for this guy aandd let's just say he's already pretty happy with someone else- someone that's the complete opposite of me"

Her eyes fell to the gyms rubber flooring, looking at her tennis shoes that could only be seen on her during this class part from her big goth boots. My eyes looked in the past direction her eyes went to see the two other people I knew at this school, Abe and Ghandi.

"So this person you like is with someone who is completely different from you- before they were together did you eventually tell them how you felt?" You looked back at Joan whose eyes were still glued to the floor in what seemed to me a pretty upset way.

"You know I tried and tried but he couldn't get it through his thick skull that I want him! Not that stupid perky Cleo-" Joan immediately noticed she said way too much and looked up at you for a reaction.
'Huh so she likes Abe?? Wow I never thought he would be her type- well she wasn't wrong about her and Cleo being different',, I thought while biting the inside of my cheek trying to think of what to say.

" I think you're a really kind person Joan, Abe is pretty dumb not seeing that in you- whatever Cleo has doesn't compare to how caring you are as a person. Hell she's rude as shit!"
I threw my arms in the air jokingly with a smile making Joan's face lighten up a little.
"Thanks (y/n)... That means a lot to me", She smiled giving you a small, friendly hug. Hugging back you realized maybe Clone High was normal.. Normal teenage drama, love, and all the grittiness in-between...

// Probably the longest chapter???
Hey guys lol, haven't seen you in the while //
