The sun was setting and I was waiting at the bus stop after a long shift at work. The coffee shop was quite busy today, and I had a long day of taking orders and trying to calm down angry customers.
My bus finally arrived at the stop, and when I climbed aboard, there was only one other person sitting in the very back of the bus, he seemed to have a camera in his hands and a black hoodie covering his head.
I sat a couple rows in front of him, not wanting to disturb him. He seemed very focused on whatever was on his camera but as the bus ride continued, I got a little more curious on who this man was.
I looked back and right as I looked at him, I could see his eyes staring directly into mine, as if he was staring at me the whole time. I was quite startled, and I quickly looked forward. minutes passed, and I got the courage to look back at him to see if he was still staring, and to my surprise he was still staring directly at me, I wasn't sure how to feel.
He was very handsome and I didn't know how to feel about a very handsome man staring at me. Was it because I was pretty? Or was this something on the back of my head?
I tried to disregard all the questions I was asking myself and just ignored him. Maybe he was just a weirdo. As I was thinking to myself, I felt a soft tap on my shoulder. I nearly jumped out of my skin. I slowly turn my head around that, looking up to meet his gaze again.
I got a better look at his face, it was very symmetrical, he had the most beautiful lips I've ever seen , and his hair was tucked behind his ears.
"Excuse me, I'm sorry to startle you, but I couldn't help but notice how beautiful your eyes were. May I take a picture? I know the questions are weird but I promise it's not for anything you should be concerned of." he asked with full confidence.
It took me a moment to process what he asked me, and I finally replied
"I'm not for sure I'm comfortable with that" a slightly stuttered and my voice is quite shaky but I try to sing confidently just in case he was actually a creep.
"Oh, I probably should've clarified. I just want a picture of your eye, not your whole face, not that your face is pretty... I just want a picture of your eye." His voice seemed less confident this time I thought for a second but you know why the hell not he didn't seem like you did anything bad with my eye.
I looked back at him after looking down at my lap for a second.
"Sure, I guess you can," he pointed his camera at my face and quickly took a picture.
He examined his camera, then looked at me and thanked me. I nodded my head in reply, and looked back at the front of the bus, but I couldn't help but wonder what he wanted to do with the picture of my eye looking back at him, and he was still looking at his camera.
He looked as if he was looking at the most beautiful piece of art in the world. I couldn't help but feel flattered. I got up from my seat and sat in the back row with him with only one seat separating us. He looked at me confused, but I tried to hide my nervousness
"May I ask what you want to do with the picture of my eye? Are you a photographer?"
"No, actually I'm an artist, a painter to be exact. I wanted a picture of your eye as an inspiration for a painting."
"Oh, I see I've never been a muse before, today is my lucky day, I guess"
I know i may be coming on too strong as I ask this, but I wanted to ask anyway,
"May I see it when it's done?"
He seemed a little shocked that I would even ask.
"Yeah, it'll be nice for someone to finally see my art."
"OK then here's my number. Call me whenever you're done."
And just like that, the bus came to a stop.
" this is my stop" he said, waiting to buy as he got up.
"See you soon," he said, grinning at me.
my heart skipped a beat as he smiled. He was the most handsome man I've ever talked to. I waved back at him.
