The night grew old and I was settled in bed all tucked in like a small child.

My phone glowed, illuminating the room. Lazily, I dragged it closer to me with minimal effort from my long night at Hyunjin's penthouse. But my tiredness quickly evaporated when I saw a text message from Hyunjin.

1:02 am

Hyunjin

Did you make it home safely?

My tiredness turned into my blood rushing to my face as if he was actually talking to me in person. After mentally collecting myself, I constructed my reply.

Did you make it home safely?

Yes, I did. Thank you.

I reread my reply, it sounded so bland. I didn't want him thinking I was boring. So of course, being as impulsive as ever, I fastly typed the most stupid message ever.

Why do you take the bus if you obviously have enough money for one since you live in a fancy penthouse?

It took me under 5 seconds to realize how I was over stepping a large boundary and he'll probably never talk to me again.

I threw my phone across the room embarrassed the one time I tried to be confident it backfired.

My phone lit up. I was aghast, I wouldn't even reply to such a question. I slowly unlocked my phone terrified of whether he was going to attack me or reply respectfully.

Hyunjin

Good question. I prefer the bus, I can find many different types of people that inspire me for my art.

A wave of relief washed over me. He wasn't mad.

I see. You seem pretty serious about your art, When did you start painting?

Hyunjin

Ever since I was able to hold a pencil I would always doodle. It wasn't until late elementary when my mother taught me how to mix paints together and apply them to a canvas.

Even his texts sound poetic. Oh my gosh.

                                                                Hyunjin

What else do you do besides paint?

I mean he clearly has a lot of money, he has to have a side hustle.

I own a small art museum on the outskirts of town. My family owned it and after my dad retired it became mine. You should come see it sometime.

I would love to. Is your work displayed too?

No it's other local artists, my dad doesn't like my work. Even though he's retired he still likes to be in charge lol.

A shame, your art is so beautiful. The world should see it.
