"Sho-sho!!! My mom bought me more sweets and mochi!!!!" (Y/n) squealed as she ran over to her best friend, the number 2 hero's son, Shoto Todoroki.
Todoroki, who had been waiting for her at their favourite Sakura blossom tree, turned around and smiled softly.
The (h/c) haired girl took out a huge load of sweets from her pocket.
Todoroki was stumped. How did her pocket fit so much sweets? Sometimes, he wonders if the girl could perform magic or sorcery.
(Y/n) unwrapped one of the sweets and practically stuffed them in Todoroki's mouth.
"Is it good, Sho-sho?" She asked excitedly. Todoroki smiled softly and he nodded his head. The smell of wild roses and honey filled the air. She was happy.
(A/n) just poked my eye with a straw by accident. I swear god hates me-
(Y/n)'s cheeks turned red and she unwrapped a sweet and popped it in her own mouth. The smell of wild roses and honey got stronger. "Mhm~" she mumbled. "Do you want to bring some sweets back for Fuyumi-chan?" (Y/n) asked sweetly.
Todoroki nodded his head. He wanted to enjoy the atmosphere of today. It was rare that the two kids could enjoy their short time together without ranting about his pathetic excuse for a human, Endeavor.
Todoroki's mind drifted away to what his father had done...
(Flashback)
"You little piece of shit! Why are you so weak? I made you with my own body and energy so get up now, stupid pathetic child!!" Endeavor shouted, slapping Todoroki again.
"Father! Stop! Shoto is still a child! Please, calm down!" Toya shouted, trying to hold Endeavor back, only to get slapped by Endeavor too.
"Shut up! You are just as weak! Getting burnt from your own fire? PATHETIC! You'll never be a hero! Go away!" Endeavor shouted.
Tears were visibly starting to roll down Toya's cheeks. However, he stayed strong, clinging onto Endeavor's arm.
"I'm not weak, father! I'll show you one day! Me and Shoto will overpower you and wipe the ground with your body!" Toya screamed.
"Tch! You're all talk, shitty maggot! I'll do what I want with Shoto, GET OUT!" Endeavor slapped Toya out of the training room.
Horror was in Todoroki's eyes as he saw red. Todoroki screamed and lunged at Endeavor with the element of surprise, shooting ice at him. Endeavor merely melted all the ice, glaring down at Todoroki. He slapped Todoroki out of the training room and Todoroki landed right next to his brother.
"Toya..." he mumbled and fell unconscious.
(End flashback)
"o-sho..."
"HOTO!!"
"SHOTO TODOROKI!!!????!!"
"Hmm?"
"Are you ok? You weren't listening to me!"(Y/n) asked worriedly. "It's nothing, really..." Todoroki waved her off, trying to prevent the tears that were gathering in his eyes from dripping down.
"No you're not ok, come here..." (Y/n) whispered softly and she wrapped Todoroki into a hug.
The feeling of her warm embrace made his tears fall down his cheeks. "I'm sorry... I ruined it again..." he cried.
"Shush... it's fine if you need to talk, what did he do today?" (Y/n) comforted Todoroki, rubbing comforting circles on his back and the comforting smell of peaches and Sakura mochi filled the air.
"So even Toya-chan got hurt as well... that "man" is terrible..." (Y/n) mumbled after listening to what Todoroki said. "I wish I could help you and your family but I can't..." (Y/n) felt guilty for not doing anything about Todoroki's family situation. "You do a lot already!" Todoroki said, " you share your sweets and whenever you get something nice from your mom, you'll always share it with us!"
(Y/n) smiled warmly. "But I wish I can do more than that..." The smell of peaches and mochi turned dark and stale. She was clearly upset.
"Don't be upset, (n/n)... the smell is suffocating and your face doesn't look cute..."
"Be quiet– " (Y/n) blushes and the sweet smell returns.
"Can you bring Konpeito for me tomorrow? My "father" took away all my sweets and threw them away..." Todoroki looked at her like 🥺.
"Sure! I have a packet at home right now! I have to go home now. See you tomorrow?" She patted Todoroki's head and pulled away from their embrace.
Todoroki pouted but nodded in response. (Y/n) smiled and waved as she ran off towards her house.
Once she was far away, her cheeks turned red and she grinned, "Sho-sho is so cute..."
