Chapter 2

"Oh, I almost forgot!" Miss Kristins exclaims"A friend of mine, a couples psychologist who specializes in finding perfect matches, has handpicked the teams for this class!"

I turn to Eden and tease, "I bet they've done it again, pairing me up with Derio." Eden starts chuckling and playfully responds, "Well, you never know, babe. Maybe you and I are the dream team! We'd make an awesome couple, don't you think?" I actually wouldn't mind working with her, and I'm curious to see if this matching thing really works. "Well, we're practically married already! Remember our wedding night?" I quip. Eden plays along, saying, "Of course, how could I forget?" I continue, "Great, since you remember, could you enlighten me? I don't recall us having one."

"Cheater!" She points at me, laughing uncontrollably. At first, I'm confused, but then I glance at the board and see my name. Fuck, I'm not paired with Eden.

But hey, on the bright side, at least I'm not stuck with Derio!

"Looks like Reese is my partner," I mutter. I don't really have any strong feelings about him. He's just always there, sitting in the classroom, talking to Aiden. He only speaks up when the teacher addresses him and rarely interacts with anyone else.

"Alright, let's get this over with," I announce, standing up and putting on a bored face. I'm so used wearing it when im talking to people I don't feel comfortable that I wouldn't even know how to turn it off, even if I wanted to.

"So, want to get this done today? Maybe we can hit the park?" I say, standing next to Reese. He seems startled, as if he didn't realize I was there. It's obvious from the way he nearly falls off his chair in surprise. "Uh, yeah, sure," he stammers. Aiden bursts into laughter, tears streaming down his face.
I walk away and return to sit next to Eden.

I sigh and put my head on the table, the class is way to loud and it's overwhelming. Eden puts her head on my back and we stay that way till the next class begins.

"Nooooooo" I groan.
"Yesssss" Eden gently pushes me off my chair.
"I don't want this schooldag to be over yet"
"That's a first" she puts my chair on top of the table for me and hands me my backpack which I accept with great discontent. "Why did you ask him to do it today anygay?" I chuckle at her gay joke, it's good wordplay.
"Cause I'm busy the rest of the week, I thought we wouldn't be getting any tests or major projects for a week seeing as its only the first week we're back so I thought I can still go to some parties and shit..."
"How many parties?"
"Eeeeeeeeeehhhhhhh"
"Louis, how many parties?."
"Three?"
"Three?! Louis you're not gonna have any time for school"
"I thought I didn't need time seeing as it's the first week!"
"Well you were wrong!"
"I know!"
"Well now ur fucked!"
"I know that too"
"And it's ur own fault!" She is finding this very amusing.
"I knooooooowwwww! And I also know you're in the same shit as me cause we have the same project!"
We're almost at our bikes.
"Guess this is it?🥺"
" Yes it is" Eden grins, she is taking way too much pleasure in my sufferingf.

I see Reese standing with his bike in hand, he's waiting for me, so I take my own bike and walk it up to him
"You ready?"
"Sure"
"Where do you wanna go?"
"Firefly parc?"
"Sounds good"
