Cornelius Fudge sat in his office chair rubbing his hands through his hair nervously. He been dreading this day as he looked at the date on his calendar multiple times hoping and praying to the gods that it would change or not come at all. But there was denying it. Today was April 20th and there was no stopping what was to come today.

Albus Dumbledore was expecting to meet him soon and Fudge knew what it will be about.

Just then, there was a knock on his door and a young beautiful woman poked her head in.

"Minister Fudge? Professor Dumbledore is here to you" she said.

"Ah, yes, thank you Carol. Please send him in." Fudge repiled

Not to long after, Dumbledore walked in the office.

"Albus old chap," He greeted with a nervous smile." Please have a seat."

The older man smiled and nodded gratefully before taking a sit opposite of Fudge.

"I do believe you know why I'm here Cornelius," Albus simply said.

Fudge nodded, there was no denying it.

"Yes, I do and I'm sorry Dumbledore. I cannot in good conscious allow you to permit that child to attend Hogwarts, he's far too dangerous"

"With all do respect Cornelius, it is against the law to deny a young wizard his rightful place to be educated especially a child of one of the scared 29. I along with Severus will be giving Mr. Ashwood his Hogwarts letter tomorrow whether you like it or not."

"You do remember what that boy's mother did. She gave up her husband location to Rodolphus and got him killed. We was even lucky to place her in Azkaban and don't even get me started on his father and his family. The Ashwood may be an Most Ancient and Noble house but they was as dark as the Gaunts. No surprise since they both believed to be descendants of the same man. While his father may not have supported You-Know-Who, he still used the dark arts." Fudge exclaimed angrily.

"Yes, I do remember Cornelius," the old man repiled calmly." As for the boy's father, there was no telling what type of magic he was using during the war but it did save many lives. And I do believe it is completely morally unacceptable to deprive a child of his right when he has done nothing to be punished for. We cannot choose our parentage Cornelius."

"I- you..." Fudge stumbled out.

"Have a good day"

With that, Dumbledore rose from his seat, and left the office to with Severus.

Y/n Ashwood opened his eyes in shock as he was jumped on by a small figure jumping around on his bed in attempt to wake him up. He groaned as his got up and looked at the small girl that jumped on him.

"Must you always wake me up like this Rose?" he grumbled.

The small girl giggled before jumping off the bed with a smile.

"No, I don't but it so much fun this way and what better way to wake up the birthday boy. Grace wants you downstairs now though. Everyone waiting for you to eat breakfast." she said grinning.

Y/n sighed and sat up." Fine. Go tell Grace I'll be down there in a moment." he said ruffling the little girl hair.

"Okay!" Rose repiled sweetly and ran out of the room for Y/n to get ready.

Y/n slowly got up out of his bed and went to the bathroom to wash and brush his teeth. Just like his normal routine. He then got out of his pajamas and threw on a dark green shirt and black jeans. After that he combed his h/c hair.

He then jogged down the stairs until he came upon the dining room, where the kids just beginning to have breakfast. Some of the kids were talking among themselves, the younger kids were laughing and playing with Grace, the Mother of the orphanage. Grace was a kindly older woman. She had long gray hair and her eyes were dark blue that always seems to twinkle and she was always smiling.

As for the kids, Y/n couldn't say he was close with any of them really other than Rose.

Rose had always been like a little siter to him. She was nine years old , had shoulder length brown hair and her eyes was a dark brown. She been at the orphanage since she was a baby, unlike him who been here since he was one, but she always took a liking to him. Ever since she was able to talk, the two of them were nearly inseparable. That was when she wasn't having fun with her other friends.

At the moment, she was talking to and laughing with her friend Lauren. Y/n smiled at the sight glad she had someone other than him. He never minded when she spent more time with her friends as he prefer to be alone but that doesn't mean he didn't enjoy her company. After he didn't have many friends there. The only people he was close to was Grace and Rose. He tried to communicate with other kids but he lack the social skill or something went wrong. So, he decided to ignore them.

It didn't make it better that Y/n know he was different, but his proof came when he was six, he made his school book fly to him when he forgot to place it in his bag when he was getting ready for school. He chose not to tell anyone about this as he was sure he be accused of lying or being insane. There was other time he had stop a garden snake from biting Rose when she wasn't paying attention. It seemed like it understood what he was saying before it slitter away.

He was brought out of his thoughts by Grace.

"Y/n hurry up and eat breakfast, so we can have that game of chess later. I still need to beat you after the last time we played. Oh and Happy Birthday Y/n" Grace said with a twinkle in her eyes.

Y/n smile lightly before sitting in his chair and pouring himself some cereal when there was a knock on the door.

"Now, who could that be? No one usually come here this early," Grace asked herself as she walk to door and opening it to see two men standing at the door. One was a older man while the other was a man while slick black hair and a hooked nose.

"Hello, we here to see Y/n Ashwood. Is he here?" the old man asked.

Y/n looked up and toward the door once he heard his name and looked at the two men standing in the door. And he had to say it was the strangest he ever seen in his life.

The old man had long silvery gray hair that flowed past his waist, and a long beard in the same color that also reached his waist. He even wore a long purple robe. The other man was tall and lanky, and his black greasy hair hung like curtains around his face. Y/n did find it strange that he was wearing a long black robe so close to the end of spring.

"Yes, he is. May I asked what this about?" She asked curious.

"Ah, we just here to invite him to our school next year. Oh where my manners. My name is Professor Dumbledore headmaster of the school and this here is Professor Severus Snape a teacher there. May we come in and talk to you and him in private."

"Oh yes, you can." Grace said with a smile letting them in." Kids why don't you go outside and play. Andrew can you and Elizabeth clean the table for me. Y/n please come here. You can follow me to his room."

Time Skip

"As I was saying earlier. I'm here to offer Y/n a place in my school." Dumbledore said with a smile.

"Why you come all the way here for that? Could you have sent a letter?" Y/n asked.

Dumbledore smile." I'm afraid this isn't something I could break to you in a letter. Not only that I'm not entirely sure how you will react to this but...."

The room began to fell very tense.

"You a wizard Mr. Ashwood."
