Victoria's POV

I ran as far as my heels could carry me. When they gave up, I took them off and threw them into the bushes.

I could hear my heart beat echoing through the silent night, the wind howled in my ears as I ran.

No no no no NO!! This is so not happening to me,

Why would the moon goddess even do this to me,

This is not even funny as a joke...

I felt tears beginning to pool in my eyes, my heart felt like it was ready to burst.
What are you doing!? Go back to our mate! Nymph yelled

"Not now nymph" I whispered
Listen whatever is bothering you, I'm sure our mate can fix it, she said again

"Nymph" I said in a warning tone, I felt anger build up in my chest, and I was ready to throw things.
Just listen to me, I know mate can help! She yelled

I snapped, " Just shut the fuck up nymph! He's the one that broke my heart all those years ago, and I'd quicker throw us off a cliff than go back there now!!" I screamed

Silence ..

I felt like steam was literally blowing out of my ears.

nymph was smart to stay quiet,

I ran straight towards the lake, and sat on next to it, watching as my teardrop rippled the water, my eyes were red and puffy, my nose was pink, and my one neat hair was now lopsided and messy from all the running.

Shit! I disrespected the Luna and alpha.

I sighed, I looked at my reflection once again and laughed.

I took my hair down and ran my fingers through it, then I splashed some of the cold lake water on my face.
Wait! Nymph yelled

I stiffened "what's wrong nymph?" I asked
I'm getting a dangerous feeling she said

I felt panic rise in my chest. I remained completely still, I was not the best fighter in the pack and if nymph sensed danger then there was danger, my breathing became faster and heavier.
Put a sign that says kill me on your head while your at it! Seriously calm down or you're gonna get us killed!! Nymph said sarcastically.

I tried to even out my breathing,

Suddenly I heard footsteps approaching and twigs breaking,

Then it halted, a low warning growl sounded through the air, I froze in my spot, I then heard snarls and growling, a fight was taking place I could hear the snapping of jaws......Then finally a low whimper and the sound of a neck being broken.

A hand rested on my shoulder suddenly and I turned around and saw a naked Damian, standing there......naked.....

My face heat up and I turned my head away,

" oh?" He said as if just realizing why I turned my head.

"Sorry" he said, " ok I'm wearing pants now, you can look" he said, in an amused tone, I turned and locked eyes with him, emotion washed over me, although I ran from him, although he broke my heart...he just saved my life, and for that I am truly grateful, " hi" I said.

" hi" he said back.

"Welcome back" I told him giving him a small smile.

He held out his hand, and I placed mine in his and he helped me up, I felt tingles rush through me at the touch of him.

"Thanks" was all he said but I heard the hidden message in that one word, it was

" thanks for giving me a second chance"
