The Start of Thrid Year

A/n Not everything will line up with the books/movies. I made it so they can have more than one pet and that they can bring any pet. And the last day of school is 1 week after Draco's birthday. And I also aged Newt Scamander down a bit. Feel free to ask any questions and don't forget to comment and vote! Oh and there are some bad language words (yes that was a Marvel reference) in this story.

Eleonora's POV

"Do you have everything? Books, Wand, Owl, Cat, Snake?" Asked mother. "Yes mother, for the one thousandth time I have everything." I said, mildly irritated that she kept asking. "Well then, goodbye love you." She hugged me while trying too hold back tears."Love you too mother! I'll be back for Christmas!" I yelled running toward the train before the doors closed. I was late getting up because I forgot to set my alarm. if it weren't for my cat Loki, yelling at me to wake up I would have missed the train.

"Ellie! There you are! I was looking everywhere for you!" Said a very familiar voice. I turned around and saw my best friend. The one and only Draco Malfoy. He had gown over that summer. He was taller and no longer had sleeked back hair. "Draco!" I ran over to him, did our "secret handshake" we made in First year and jumped up to hug him."looks like someone's missed me." He chuckled as we hugged. "Oh merlin, you have no idea." I said as we pulled away from the hug. "Come on, our friends are waiting to see you." He said as he took my hand and walked towards our friends.

"Ella! Oh Merlin I missed you!" Yelled Daphne. "Missed you too Daph!" I laughed as we hugged "Merlin, do you have to be so loud." Said Theo, sitting in the corner with his nose in a  book and a chocolate frog in the other. "Well hello to you too Theo." I said as I sat next to Daphne as she giggled and Theo huffed. "Hey guys." Blaise said as he slid open the compartment door. "Blaise!" Said Daphne as she hugged him. She loves hugging people. "So, how was everyone's summer?" Daphne said as she sat down, linked her arm with mine and put her head on my shoulder. "Oh mine was great! We went to France, visited my godfather in England, I got a FireBolt for my birthday, and I got a pet snake!" I said as I reached into my bag a pulled out Noodle, my ball python. "Her name Is noodle." I said happily as I held her up so every one could see. "Oh wow! She beautiful!" Said Theo as he put his book down. He's always loved animals. "Yes very nice, did you say you got a FireBolt?" Asked Blaise his voice rising slightly. "Yes I did, wanna go on it when we get to Hogwarts?" I asked as I handed Noodle to Theo, who started petting her head lightly."um YES!" Draco and Blaise at the same time. I laughed and said "when we get the chance, we can all go to the quidditch pitch." "Just wait until Potter see we have a FireBolt on the team." Said Draco, smirking.

We all talked and laughed a lot until the train started slowing down. "Are we there yet?" I asked, with a confused expression on my face. "We can't possibly be there yet." Said Daphne. Just then the lights started flickering and then turned off. "I'll go see what's happening" i said standing up and muttering "lumos" (not sure I spell that correctly) "I'll go with you" said Draco also standing and lighting his wand. He slid open the door and grabbed my hand. We always hold hands, everyone but our closest friends think we're dating but it's just platonic. I start panicking a little bit when the windows freeze over. "Hey, uh Draco?" I said with a shaky voice. "Yeah? What's wrong?" He said, turning around too look at me with a concerned expression on his face. "Is it just me, or are the windows frozen?" I questioned. "Uhhh Ellie? You might wanna run." He whispered. "What? Why?" "Look behind you." He said, slowly I turned around, only to come face to face with a Dementor.

Shit.

"Run!" Draco then grabbed my hand and started running back towards an empty compartment. We ran in and slammed the door shut and locked it. He turned towards me and hugged me tightly. "You alright?" Concern filled his voice "m-maybe" I said with a shaky voice. "Oh Merlin, Your freezing." He said as he held my hands to his chest with one hand and held me closer with his other hand. I spent about five minutes taking shaky breaths as he held me tight and calmed me down. Once I calmed and the lights came back on, we walked back to our compartment.

When we walked back in the compartment, Daphne was holding Blaise, he doesn't like the dark, and Theo was too distracted by Noodle, (who was curled up in his hoodie), too even acknowledge us. "Oh my god, the crazy shit just happened." I said as I sat next to Draco. "What? What happened?" Asked Daphne as she let go of Blaise and turned to look at me. "Dementor, on the train!" I said still a little shocked. "Yeah! It was right there, looking straight at us." Said Draco, also a little shocked. "It was bloody terrifying!" I said picking my cat up and petting him. "Trade." Draco demanded, looking at me with his cat in his hands. "ok fineeee" I winced handing him Loki, while he handed me Thor. Yes, we did name our cats after Norse gods. (or Marvel characters).

Once the train arrived at Hogsmeed Station we packed up and Draco handed me Loki, (who was upside down on his lap), and I handed him Thor. Theo put Noodle back in my bag and thanked me for letting him hold her. We all got off the train and headed straight for Hogwarts.

I considered it home. don't get me wrong I love my mother with my life, it's just that it gets pretty lonely sometimes. Father works at the Ministry with Draco's father, Lucius Malfoy. So he's not really at home. It's mostly just me and mother. Though sometimes Theo visits, Mother really likes him and sometimes my godfather Newt visits, he also likes Theo. And Draco visits a lot as well, mostly to keep me busy during the summer, we play a lot of quidditch.
