What we can't have||Lewis Hamilton

She was his race engineer and he was the driver she spoke to every race day, as it is her job. Even though they were strictly co-workers something about her stood out to him that he had never been able to find in any other women he tried to begin a relationship with, because to him Y/n had set the standard so high that all he wanted was her. What he couldn't have. To her he was this charming man who won her over without even knowing it. Everything within her wanted to be with him ,to be his but then again he wasn't hers. No now he was arriving with the newest girl he was with, the media had been shocked when they saw him with Olivia a well known British actress who Y/n had to admit was beautiful. The two had been together for a short time and every time she saw them in the garage or around the paddock together it slowly tore apart her heart as she wanted to be her. Lewis was always with her, never leaving her side even at Mercedes functions he was with her but his eyes lingered around the room to find a certain someone who wasn't the women next to him but it was Y/n the women who held his mind captive without knowing it. When he saw her walk in with that beautiful dark blue dress that made her eyes pop, he couldn't help but want to walk over to her but his mind quickly forgot about that thought when Olivia called out to him.

"Babe you there?" Lewis tuned to her and shook his head with a false smile and nodded.

"Yea no just got lost in thought is all." Olivia nodded slowly but she had began to see a sudden change in his behavior and when Y/n, Toto and Susie all made they're way over to the table where the two sat she saw the way his expression changed as soon as he saw them or more specifically Y/n. Toto greeted both as did Susie and when Y/n greeted Olivia and went to do so to Lewis he smiled widely at her and she couldn't help but reciprocate it and he extended his arms out to point out the dress.

"I see you finally learned from the fashion expert." Lewis pointed at himself and Y/n couldn't help but scoff and roll her eyes and throw her head back as she laughed.

"Oh please if anything you learned from me, because those outfits from years ago are something else Mr.Hamilton."

"It's Sir actually in case you forgot y/n/n." She smiled at the nickname he had given her years ago. He smiled so softly at her the two had forgotten the people around them and Olivia surely noticed the difference between the two and them. When they all sat down for dinner everyone conversed and laughed at the jokes made.

"It reminds me of when we went to Germany and I had told Lewis and Y/n we'd all fly together and when we got there I remember as we were walking the streets to get to the hotel a man was playing a song and Y/n stopped to listen to him play and when Lewis approached her the man told him to dance with her and he'd play a song, these two moved perfectly it was absolutely astonishing. Favorite memory of germany so far." When he finished speaking Lewis glanced over at where Y/n sat and she did the same and something about the way he looked at her made Olivia finally realize why he spoke so fond of her, it wasn't because she was simply a good person but because he loved her in a way he could never do so for Olivia. When the dinner was over the pair waited for the car to be brought to them and Y/n waited for hers on the other valet, and Lewis looked over at Olivia and saw how she had changed and was curious what was wrong.

"Olivia, are you alright?" She turned to look at him with tears forming in her eyes and Lewis immediately grew concerned.

"Will you be honest if i ask you a serious question." Lewis replied with a small laugh and nodded. "I need the full truth and if you lie to me trust me Lewis i will know."

"Olivia ask me you're worrying me."

"Do you love me?" The question lingered in the air and it created such a sensation that made Lewis hesitate. Olivia looked at him trying to read his face and him hesitating made things clear for her.
