"I don't know about the entire story of the chosen ones, but I know someone who can."

"You just have to find Zilong. He's the black dragon of mystic waters. He usually appears in China whenever the Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated. He can tell you everything you wanna know."

Yue breathed, careful enough not to create a gust of wind that could potentially ruin the entire celebration. She's outraged as, Fang, the bad luck fairy, hasn't given her anything precise that could end her search right away. She even has to wait until June just to meet with Zilong—she didn't even know if she could.

"I should have just ended her," her tongue explored her frontal teeth in annoyance. Turning around, her eyes landed on the inner harbor where the Dragon Boats are.

The contenders of the race are all already ready for the contest, so Yue decided to settle on the side of the Yangtze River to where the humans are.

Yue still wears the same Red Qixiong Ruqun, but with lesser vibrancy, so she wouldn't attract people; however, her beauty still did. She's in doubt she'd stay calm with all the men trying to hit up on her; hence, she went back to her Guardian form, vanishing from everyone's sight. Either way, Zilong would see her.

Yue stood on top of a dragon statue, facing the river. "So, where is he?"

Truly, she didn't know what or how Zilong would look like. Will he be a literal dragon or in a form of a human? Who knows.

Finally, the race started and for a moment, Yue's eyes got stuck to one of the boats as it's the only one in black color among the red ones, so it's quite noticeable.

"Of course," Yue snorted and hovered towards it.

The contestants were so persistent to win that Yue had to keep up the same speed. No one could see her—they didn't even notice that the black boat is actually a real dragon. Hopefully, it's Zilong.

"I need your cooperation," she said in an authoritative manner yet didn't receive any response.

"C'mon, I know it's you!"

This time, the dragon boat's eyes blinked. Slowly, they met Yue's.

"Thou shall not bother me, child."

The voice is so deep, Yue felt as though she'd drown. It's more like it came from a god; it resonated in the entire place like they were placed inside a box.

Eager to get what she came in the event for, she placed her chin up and gather her might to speak and, perhaps, argue.

"I came here with a mission to know how and why I became a chosen or what on earth was that called. I shall get my answers, otherwise I'm getting everyone in trouble," Yue maintained the tone of her voice.

"If you're trying to threaten me, it is not working. However, there's no need for that."

Yue stopped at one pace when a black aura suddenly encircled the boat, without the humans noticing, and the next thing she knew, she's already facing a girl dressed in brilliant black and on her left hand is a scythe.

The boat where she came from has now turned red, passing through them.

"Zilong? You're a grim reaper and a girl? But your voice earlier—"

Yue pursed her lips when Zilong gestured her to stop.

"Yeah, I get that a lot. That was my real form," her voice sounded exactly what she appears. "Now, as you were saying? You wanted to know how and why you're chosen?"

Yue nodded.

"To answer both at the same time, the chosen ones are those guardians who lived great lives yet chose to end them. It's a retribution. I believe you already know what you did as a human," she said and Yue could only clear her throat.

"Y-Yeah, so... what will happen to u-us?"

"You'll know," Zilong grinned, turning against her heel.

Yue watched her raise her scythe in the open air and strike against some sort of an invisible barrier as if it's only made of paper. As Zilong slit it down, another dimension appeared on the other side which made Yue's eyes grew in circles.

"What in the—" she gasped.

"Yep," Zilong faced her again, beaming. "It's time for you to complete your mission. You may enter."

"I'm sorry what?! Right now?!"

"I thought you want answers? There you go."

"But—"

"Good luck!"

Yue gasped when Zilong suddenly appeared behind her, pushing her inside the other dimension.
