The following morning you wake up with a crick in your neck from sleeping with Omega in her loft. Omega has done her best to help make the loft comfortable, but you are a fully grown adult attempting to sleep in a confined space. There is only so much your spine can handle.

Omega is still resting, so you carefully shift her over into her bed, and make your way down the stairs. After quietly walking by a sleeping Wrecker, Echo and Hunter you walk through the doors into the middle part of the ship. You see Gonky with the coffee pot resting on his head, and a hot cup poured for you.

Up in the cockpit you can see Tech, holding his own mug and leaning over something. Clearly he is looking into something, and you decide not to disturbed him beyond a quiet "morning". You contemplate sitting inside, possibly hoping that Tech might have heard you, or will turn around and then join you. - Just a few minutes, while it cools a bit, then I'll head outside- you tell yourself and sit down with your coffee.

You wait for at least 20 or so minutes, before you decide not to wait any longer. It felt longer than it was because you would find yourself watching Tech, waiting for him to turn around at any moment. He never did. You had swirled your coffee, enjoyed the smell, and started sipping it as it cooled but Tech didn't acknowledge you and continued to work.

You didn't want this situation to make you feel bad, especially since he was probably working on something important. He was the researcher for this crew and you had been put into an unknown situation, his least favorite type. But at the same time you wished that he could have spent a moment with you, maybe even telling you what he was researching like he had been doing before. You stood up. paused for a moment, thinking about walking up to him. --I should just leave him to his work- was what you decided, and you took the rest of your coffee out the door with you.

Tech had heard you when you first walked in, and had cautiously glanced at you through a small mirror he had placed on the dashboard. At the moment he was looking into different buyers for imperial information, but he was also trying to change the routine he had started to establish with you. Your morning coffee together had become too comfortable, and Tech didn't like the thought of missing an important detail for their missions or the possibility of impacting the team with emotional developments. You were teammates, that was all there was to it, but he had taken an experimental precaution to see how you would adjust to his change in behavior.

-So far, so good- he noted, watching you finally leave. It had taken quite a strong conviction to not greet or look at you, but thankfully you hadn't noticed the mirror and he had been able to watch you without ever turning around. It hurts slightly to see you gaze at him, often for long periods before returning to your coffee but this adjustment was for the best.

The forest outside was alive with birds chirping, the leaves rustling and the early morning sun just beginning to shine. You stopped by your ship to grab a jacket you had, and then proceeded to carefully climb up the easiest tree with your coffee in hand. It was a challenge, but you had no need for speed and so you slowly made your way higher and higher above the campsite while not spilling your coffee. Even if Tech had not drank coffee with you, he had still made it for you and you still intended to enjoy it.

Once you reached a nice view point, you settled down on a sturdy branch, back against the trunk of the tree and sipped what was left of your coffee. Tech's lack of acknowledgement still bugged you, but you did actually have something better to do this morning. Now that you were away from the others you could meditate and connect with the force. Your meditation yesterday had given you some idea of the future, and while you were curious you remembered the dangers of looking ahead, one of the first lessons you learned about force abilities.
