"The heart of man
is very much like
the sea.

it has its storms,
it has its tides

and in its depths
it has its pearls
too."

-My eyes threaded through the poem. Author, Vincent Vang Gogh.

He speaks about the storms, the tides and the depths as if it's worth enough to be surpassed, for we could reach the pearls atlast.
But-

"But what if these pearls happens to be heavier than those storms and tides?"

-I mumbled to myself nonchalantly.

Sighing, I pick out the small paper note left for me between the pages of the poetry book as I read it for the forth time now.

'At the riverbank. Sunset.'

-The note said.

Wrinkling the paper note within my fist, I buries it into my hoodie pocket, fishing out a lip tint along with a pocket mirror instead.

Applying a bit of the coral tint on my lips, I smiles at the mirror ; basically to check has it got on my teeth like the last time. Clearing my concern, I kept the makeup away. Closing the book, I lifts my gaze to the sky while I sat on the mellow grasses of the riverside.

The sun, slowly beginning to summon all its gradient colors as it prepares to dive into the horizon.

And thus, I waited. Waited for you.

A while. It has been a while since we started to create us ; just as you had asked me that day.

A while. It has been a while since I've been waiting too, hoping you'll finally finish 'your part' of creation like I did.

Well, should have known that though it sounds brief, a while is still an indefinite piece of time.

Not that I'm complaining, for I love every bit of it. Could feel myself falling for you again and again, deeper and deeper in all those whiles with every tides, with every storms.

However, it is also true that for a while now the ocean is calm, serene.
Lesser tides, lesser storms ; guiding me to its underlying pearls, inviting.

However, cannot fathom why I couldn't make it though. Like why my limbs are giving up now in the calm ocean when it did surmount the storms afore. Like the more energy I put within the ocean, the more weak I feel within myself.

Perhaps, I'm still missing an error. Perhaps just this isn't enough.

After all, it's the ocean that I crave.

"Lost in thoughts again, hm..?"

Goosebump lathers my skin as you whisper tickles my ears out of the blue from my behind.

It's the same.
After all these time, the effect you have on me is the same. That still didn't change. Certainly never will.

Could tell it from the way my heart skipped a beat just even now, like it did a thousand times before.

Biting my smile, I turn behind meeting your ethereal face, only mere inches away.

Gaze locking ; your ocean eyes, smiling, almost reflecting the sun setting behind me. My amber ones, adoring.

"What was it this time...?"

-You mused, resting your chin on my shoulder like a kid, eyes waiting for answer.
