Freen's POVI woke up to the warmth of the sun on my face. I quickly glanced at the clock and realized it was already 8:00 AM in the morning. I looked for Becky beside me but couldn't find her, so I immediately got up and went to the living room.
I saw Becky in the kitchen, busy preparing our breakfast. I went to her immediately to give her a kiss on the cheek and hugged her from behind while she cooked.
"Good morning, love," she said to me.
"So, are we calling each other 'love' now?" I asked.
"It's just cute, hehehe," she replied.
"Okay, love. Good morning to you too, my love," I said.
After she finished, we went to the balcony. The weather was beautiful, and there was a slight drizzle. The cool breeze was very relaxing.
"I miss this kind of morning," she said.
"Cleaning, you mean? *chuckles* I'm sorry, love, it wasn't my intention to make a mess. I just wasn't in the mood to clean.," I said.
"It's okay, love. It's partly my fault too. Did you really drink for a whole week? And when did you start drinking, Freen?" she asked me.
"Alcoholic drinks taste better when you're not okay," I said.
It's true, alcoholic drinks taste better when you're not okay. It gives you comfort, or it makes you really tired so you can just fall asleep instead of thinking about things.
"I won't hurt you anymore. Alcohol is not good for you. That was too much," she said to me, and I just nodded in response.
Becky hurt me so bad, but I couldn't bring myself to be angry with her. Because the truth is, during the week I went wild in this condo, I found solace in her.
She broke me, but she's also the only person who can fix me.
My life became better when she came. I stopped crying, drinking beers, and talking nonsense. She calms me, and I don't know how she does it.
I love Becky for reasons I can't fathom. I don't know if this hurts Sam and Yssa more, but that's how I feel, and I know she feels the same way about me.
"What about you and Sam? Why were you together that night?" I asked Becky.
"I was just walking out of the mall, not knowing where to go, until I ended up in a playground. Unbeknownst to me, there's a village adjacent to that playground, and Sam lives there. So she saw me and accompanied me. I'm grateful that we met there because we talked about closure too. Sam and I are okay now, and she accepts that we're no longer together. We had a good conversation," she said.
Uh, okay, I'm glad they have closure now. It gives me peace of mind, because I was thinking otherwise. I even thought they got back together.
"Please apologize to Sam for my initial reaction. I was just surprised to see you two together," I told Becky.
"She understands, and she's your cousin, so there will surely be a chance for you to talk," she said.
I just nodded and smiled; she was right.
We continued eating and didn't speak further. I hope we can always be like this, peaceful and problem-free. Just happy and in love.
After we finished eating, I cleaned up the dishes and washed them, while Becky was busy looking for a movie for us to watch. She also prepared some popcorn for us to snack on while watching.
"Here, this one looks good. It's a love story!" she said.
"I'm done," I said as I quickly moved to her side.
