Sidon stared wide-eyed at the individual, pure surprise and recognition filled his golden hues. He was quiet, the voice and face of whom he was staring at leaving him in complete shock. Shock because he never thought he'd see his childhood friend again.
"It's good to see you again, Princy." The nickname that Sidon missed hearing sounded foreign yet calming in his ears. He wanted to cry, cry from happiness but as a prince he knew better. So, collecting himself, he smiled brightly, his tail wagging slightly.
"Cronus! My dear friend! It's been years! Come! Let us talk!" Sidon exclaimed happily, his tail wagging faster unconsciously. This had the guards confused yet slightly surprised that he knew such a huge Zora.
Sidon grabbed the hand of Cronus, leading the quiet Megladon towards the center of the domain, past the guards who still gripped their weapons tightly for they did not trust the overly tall Zora.
Cronus followed the Zora prince, kinda nervous due to he didn't want to start anymore problems with the Zora Domain. He knew that not many people favored him because of his type and size but the Zora, his own species, rejecting him, really hit him hard when he first came to the Domain years ago with his adoptive dad Link. He remembered being so down and insecure that he didn't want to leave the inn where they were staying until he met Sidon and Mipha, the only Zora who didn't see him as something that didn't deserve to live.
He was happy, overjoyed even that he found Zora, people like him, that accepted him. Even though the happiness lasted for awhile, he savored it. Now that he was back now, he could feel that small bit of joy bubbling back up but he knew it would never be the same without Mipha. He had heard of Miphas death during the calamity and it had broke him. He had cried and cried even while fighting to save Hyrule, he cried while fighting. Even though they weren't friends for long, he still felt like a piece of him was missing when she passed.
But seeing Sidon now, it helped him remember that he still had Sidon left, the one person besides Mipha who accepted him.
"Tell me, what have you been doing all these years!? It's been a long time since we've seen one another and I have to say, you sure have changed quite a lot my dear friend." Sidon stated as he sat down on the stairs, Cronus sitting down beside him.
"I've been doing a lot since I left. Link taught me how to use a bow and sword, though I could never really master it like he did."
He looked over to the red shark prince, his one eye staring at the gold eyes that looked at him with excitement.
"I know I look a little different, well a lot different since last time. Being out in the real world isn't easy. Fighting monsters is a task but I did it with pride." He paused a moment, looking at Sidon with lazy eyes and a small smile.
"I did miss being around you and Mipha though. I heard of what happened with Mipha and was broken. But coming back here, knowing that you are still here makes me feel better. I also see your not the quiet little Zora who use to hide behind his sister all the time." Cronus laughed lightly, his overly sharp teeth glistening white."Hey! I didn't always hide behind my sister! I just liked staying by her because I felt safe." Sidon stuttered, a light blush on his face for being called out. But his mood changed into a somber one, Cronus noticing this and stopped his laughing.
"I do miss her though, I was broken too. But her death was not in vain! She protected us and her trapped soul was set free by Link." Sidon stated, trying to lighten up the mood. Though, Cronus was the one who seemed to bring it up more."Link was here? In the Domain? I thought he had perished with the Champions? Is he still here?" He threw question after question at Sidon, the Zora prince going into a sensory overload.
"Woah hang on my dear friend." He chuckled lightly at Cronus behavior, his excitement reminding Sidon of a pup. "He left a few days ago. We all thought he had perished along with the others but he didn't. He was apparently saved 100 years ago and put into a deep sleep. My father and I were shocked when he walked in, alive and well." Sidon told the Megladon, Cronus excitement slightly wavering.
"At least I know he's alive and well. That makes me feel better." Cronus sighed happily, happy that his adoptive dad was still alive. Cronus smiled to himself before looking up at the sky, taking in the beautiful view of the night sky. Sidon on the other hand, stared at Cronus, his eyes fixated on the huge scar that covered his right eye.
"If I may ask, what happened to your other eye? Of course you don't have to explain if it's too much." Sidon asked, his curiosity peaking over. Cronus shook his head, looking forward.
"It's nothing personal so I don't mind sharing. To be honest, I got it during training years ago. Link had tried making something he called, 'automated dummies' that would move with you when you fought. But one of the bows malfunction while I was helping him set them up and well, one of the arrows lodged in my eye and exploded. It was a bomb arrow. Luckily though it wasn't a huge bomb otherwise half of my head would be missing." Cronus laughed lightly, trying to being the mood up. Sidon though was horrified.
"My goodness! Maybe making those 'automated dummies' was not the best idea. Even though I am sad that your eye is gone, I am also happy that you did not lose your head." Cronus laughed a bit harder at Sidons worried expression.
"I appreciate the concern but it happened years ago. We did destroy the plan on the dummies though. It was funny though, Link wouldn't stop crying and apologizing. But all was already forgiven. To be honest, it did bother me for the longest time not having both my eyes but I've learned to live with it." Cronus chuckled before yawning.
"Oh my! I am sorry to keep you up! You must be tired from the journey to get here. Come, I'll lead you to the quarters you will be sleeping in." Sidon exclaimed, mentally slapping himself for making his friend talk so late into the night when he must have been beyond tired. Standing up from his spot on the stairs, Cronus copying his actions, Sidon motions for the tall Zora to follow him.
Quietly walking up the stairs, Cronus finally realized how small Sidon was to him. It was quiet funny how even after 100 years and Sidon still being older than the young Megladon, he was still smaller. Chuckling to himself he walks up to be beside the Zora prince.
"Tomorrow, if you are not busy of course, I would like to go to Ralis pond with you if that would be ok?" Cronus asked, reaching the quarters as they both stopped at the big blue doors. Sidon looked up at his tall friend, striking his signature pose.
"Of course! It has been ages since we have hung out together! I would love to join! I'll come get you in the morning. Good night my dear friend. I am terribly sorry to have kept you up so late." Sidon sighed, feeling guilty for keeping him up longer.
"It is alright. I don't mind losing an hour or two of sleep talking to you." Cronus stating, smiling at the Zora prince who seemed to have a small, faint blush on his cheeks.
"W-well good night! I shall see you in the morning!" Sidon stampered, quickly turning around and walking off to his quarters.
"Good night Princy, sleep well." Cronus waved, walking into his quarters leaving Sidon by himself under the night sky.
Sidon, stopped at his quarters, real quiet for a moment before he suddenly started dancing, quietly of course. He danced of happiness, happy that his friend was back. His heart pounded and his tails wagged as he trotted inside his quarters, a huge smile resting on his face.
Heyo! Ok I know that Sidon may be a bit ooc in the last part but it's ok, I thought it would be cute to make him do a happy dance because he was excited to see his childhood friend.
