you and Neteyam have a conversation about his brother.
__________

You and Neteyam are close. He was your brother, and you were his sister. You loved each other, no matter what shenanigans you two pull yourselves into.

You two sat at the top of a tree, watching the world around you. Neteyam was awfully quiet, he must be planning something. He only acts like the crackhead he is when he's with you.

"Hey, sis,"

"Hm?"

"What are 5 words that you think describes Lo'ak?"

You pause, studying his face. He was genuine. No teasing smile or goofy eyebrow raising.

You think back to how he sometimes takes thing literally. Like that one time you two were play fighting and you said something about how he was a weak fighter. He smiled, but his eyes changed. You never made a joke like that again.

"Sensitive."

You then think of how his hands felt. They were always cautious around you. How they would hold your hand or how he would hold your face in his hands. How they held doors open for you or how he would hold leaves out of the way for you.

"Gentle."

You think about how he protects his family. How he tries to be like his father. He takes risks, not thinking about how it could effect him, but his family. How it would effect you. He protects what he loves.

"Brave,"

You think about he looks out for his sister's, no matter how much he jokes about them. How he notices when all of his girls are sad or out of character. How he tries to get them to smile, get angry, anything. He just didn't want them to be sad anymore. How he held Tuk when she was tired.

"Caring..."

Neteyam raises a brow at your lovesick smile.

"And the fifth one?"

You turn to him with a sheepish but proud smile.

"Beautiful. He's beautiful."

Neteyam cringes playfully at that.

"I don't know about that one..."

You gasp dramatically, and shoved him slightly.

"Take that back, he's beautiful."

"Beautifully ugly."

Neteyam laughs and he stands, running away from your hits.

"HE IS VERY GORGEOUS TO ME!"

The two of your start jumping through the trees, Neteyam teasing you about your mate and you defending him, not noticing the said boy smiling to himself on the forest floor. He touches his chest, where he held a necklace he made for you in his gentle hands. He'll give it to you later.

"She thinks I'm beautiful?"
