Yukino and Kyoutaro, a twins born into the prestigious and highest-ranking noble (Kuge) Minamoto family. Their ancestors were once great samurai, serving their emperors with unwavering loyalty and valor. But as generations passed, the family's influence slowly dwindled, until only the twins remained as the last living members.

Their father, the previous leader of the Minamoto clan, passed away when they were toddlers, and their mother, who was a renowned musician, died soon after giving birth to them. The twins were left orphaned and vulnerable until their great uncle, Kagekatsu Uesugi, took them under his wing. He was their mother's uncle and their grandfather's younger brother, a former samurai, and the current Daimyo of the powerful Hosokawa Han.

Kagekatsu was highly respected and well-known throughout the Chrysanthemum Kingdom. He was a man of unwavering principles, and his word was law. He took it upon himself to become the twins' guardian, and he taught them all he knew about the ways of the politics and samurai. The twins were young but fierce, and they were keen students, eager to learn and master the art of the sword and archery.

Now, they lived a quiet life on their family estate, under the protection of their great uncle, the Daimyo of the Hosokawa Han.

Even at the age of eleven, Yukino was a true beauty, with long, straight hair as black as the midnight sky. Her skin was as white as freshly fallen snow, and as smooth as the finest silk kimono. Her eyes, shaped like almonds, were as brown as chestnuts. But her spirit truly set her apart - like a wildfire, fierce and unyielding, yet always grounded in the deep well of her kindness and compassion.

Kyoutaro, Yukino's younger twin-brother, was a contrast in many ways. His hair shone like silver-white moonbeams, framing a face with delicate features and a gentle expression. His eyes, a calm gray seemed to radiate a soothing quality that calmed those around him. His gentle nature was like a cherry blossom tree, swaying softly in the wind, and his kind demeanor reminded others of the moon's gentle glow. Though he was introverted, he possessed the inner strength of a bamboo plant, bending but never breaking under pressure.
