I was anxiously waiting in my plastic chair, desk attached. A kid sitting to the right of me was copying my answers the whole time I took my test. The results were in, and the tests were out. Was I the only person that didn't have my test back?
"Spencer. Spencer Collin." My teacher said behind his desk. I looked around the room, almost everybody's eyes on me. What? I didn't do anything wrong.
Making my way up the aisle of old desks, I made my way to Mr. Doune.
"Yes.." He said, not making eye contact with me.
"You just called me up here." I was rocking on my heels.
"Oh, right. Spencer."
"That's me." I smiled. He began to look at my face. His arm reached around his computer to give me a pink slip.
I grabbed it, becoming confused.
"What's this?" I said, looking at it front to back.
"A detention slip." He said it so obvious.
"Wh-What, why?" I began to studder, I was so confused.
"That young man," He pointed to the boy from my right "said you copied his answers."
It took me a second to gather my words "Excuse me, but if anything, he copied me."
"An accusation is an accusation, Miss Collin." He looked back at the stack of papers on his desk.
"But, I dont even know where the detention room is."
"Down the hall. Biggest door in school."
Inside my head, I was panicking. I walked away & to my desk to get my things. On my way down the aisle I felt a foot and the next thing I knew, I was on the ground with scratched up knees and hands. Laughter came spilling out of my classmates.
The guy on my right whispered to me "Thanks for the answers." Then winked.
"Whatever, creep." Then proceeded to get my bag and roll my eyes. I got up to my feet, dusted myself off, and walked out the door.
I kept looking at the small pink paper. And looking up to search the hall for a detention room. Like Mr. Doune said, down the hall, biggest door. I grabbed the knob, took a deep breathe and prepared myself for what was going to happen.
