Wildest Dreams ~ Jack Hughes

Chapter 1

Me and Maddy arrived at the Newark airport and we were just waiting for Nico to pick us up. When he got here he took me and Maddy to my house so we can unpack the rest of the stuff we had. Most of our things were already in the house. When we finished Nico invited us to his game tonight and said he would drive us there. He said they were playing the Rangers which is a very entertaining game so of course I said we would go. After he helped us move a few boxes in he went home because he wanted to take a nap before the game.

Maddy and I were both getting ready because Nico was on his way to pick us up. I had to give her one of my jerseys, I obviously gave her one of Nicos. One because he's my brother and were there to support him, and second her and Nico have had a thing for each other so i'm sure him seeing her In his jersey will cheer him up. We both finished getting ready, I was wearing one of Nicos jerseys with thigh high boots on and pretty short jean shorts. I will probably be freezing but as long as my outfit looks good I should be fine.

Nico gets to our house and tries to convince me to change because I'm going to freeze and he doesn't want me complaining. I didn't listen though because I didn't have a backup plan for this outfit. He compliments Maddy about 100x in the car and finally when we get there he stops because he had to get in "game mode." Me and Maddy got to watch them practice in the practice rink next to the main rink. We sat down on the bench because its the best view your going to get and the coach always let me sit here.

While they are practicing a lot of the players come up to me and say hi, and I introduce them to Maddy. Two players come up, one of them I met which was Dawson, the other I haven't. His name was Jack, he was cute but I know Nico would kill me if he finds out I was saying this about one of his teammates. They both get yelled at and they skate away. "So lets not pretend that you were completely memorized by Jack Hughes." Maddy nudges me in the side. "Shut up I just met him, he's not even all that he's probably a playboy."

Maddy kept talking about how good Nico was but if im going to be completely honest I wasn't watching Nico. I was watching Jack, he's so good for no reason, like the way he handles to puck and the way he shoots is just perfect." I got zoned out and Maddy snapped me back into reality. Just before the practice ended we went into the main rink to get to our seats. We got them just behind the devils net. I like these seats, I would either get these, behind the visitors net, or behind the devils bench.

Everyone was finally coming into the rink and taking their seats. Maddy and I got up to go down towards the locker room to wish Nico good luck. We obviously had to stop for a drink and some snacks along the way. I know me and her are not legal to drink yet but I know everyone who works here so they let me go. When we got down there a lot of the guys come out hugging me. I smelt like sweat and nasty hockey gear after half of the team greeted me with a hug. Nico came out with Jack and Dawson and ran up to Maddy to give her a hug. I pretended to through up to break the awkwardness. "Shut up rodent" Nico says laughing. I give him a hug and wish him good luck.

I made them take photos of Maddy and I because they always do what I want. A few photos later I said goodbye to all of them before they had to go back on the ice. Maddy and I walked back up and sat in our seats. We got to see them all warm up which Nico gave Maddy a puck and Miles, Jack, and Dawson gave me a puck. While they were skating around Jack backed up into the boards right near me and Maddy a bunch of times. I was confused why he was doing that but im not going to lie I didn't mind it.

The first period started and off the bat the Rangers scored. At the end of the period the Devils were losing 3-0. There was a good amount of fights, and a lot of arguments. In the start of the second period it only took 3 minutes for Jack to score. It was right in front of Maddy and I which was really nice. He skated over to where we were sitting and smiled at me and turned around before every skated up to him. about 12 minutes later Nico scored. Maddy was so excited and jumped up and down especially when he pointed to her after scoring. Second period ended and the score was 3-3.

Their period started and not much happened except for who Dawson scored towards the end of the period which ended the game with a 4-3 win. It was a good relief watching the devils beat the rangers especially that it was my first game back in New Jersey.
