"Yes, what do you need, hmm?"
His voice was gentle, yet commanding, with a barely noticeable bland undertone. I had heard stories of this man and his "Eternal Paradise", but I had put off from visiting.
That was, until I had no choice.
"Oh my, you look rather pale!" The man said from his throne, keeping a well-trained smile on his face. "I don't recognize you either, are you a newcomer?"
I dip my head, feeling the need to show proper respect. "I was sent here by my aunt, who has likely passed away from illness, just like the rest of my family. She said that you could save me," I explained. "...Is it true? Can you cure me of my illness?"
There was a moment of almost sickening silence, and then the man stood. He gracefully approached me, the tassels of his crown swaying from side to side. He was tall, a bit more than six feet it seemed, and he was extremely masculine, with defining pecs and biceps.
"I see you have gone through a lot; you poor thing," he said softly, taking my hands in his, clasping them together. "Do not worry, you no longer have to suffer."
As he kept contact with me, I was surprised to feel my lethargy vanish, my chills stop, and my overall weakness just disappear. I looked up at the man's gemstone-like eyes. The multiple colors contained in them swirled around, creating a hypnotic rainbow. His pupils were shaped weirdly, as if they were Kanji engravings, but I couldn't tell just yet.
But that wasn't important. This man... what did he just do to me?
"Feeling better now?" He asked, grinning innocently. I nodded slowly. "How did you..?" I began, but he pressed a finger to my lips.
"Shhh, you must be very tired after making your way to my temple. Get some rest, there is a spare room just down the hall," he said, hands on my shoulders as he led me out of the room. I jumped as he shut the door behind me.
Blinking, I pondered over what had just occurred. Perhaps all the rumors were right. He must truly be a divine man. And he just saved me from the illness that took the lives of my entire family. I felt bad I didn't get to thank him, but perhaps I could visit him tomorrow and do that.
For now, as he said, I was very tired, and needed rest.
