Many people wish for a happier life. Many people have wants, needs, wishes. But not me.

I've been silent my whole life. I never asked for anything. I never disobeyed. I've done everything asked of me.

So why..

Fleur's eyes shot open as the door to his enclosure opened. He sat up, looking up at the two men who'd walked in. Cyanide, and Othello.

Othello. Why was Othello here. Fleur's eyes narrowed at the red eyed man smirking down at him. He knelt down to Fleur's height, holding a syringe. Fleur attempted to snatch his arm away, but Othello simply tightened his grip. Fleur winced, glaring daggers at Othello.

"Shh, little flower.. it'll only hurt for a bit." Othello smirked as he inserted the syringe, injecting the black liquid into the smaller creature's veins. Fleur's eyes shot open in pain. He screamed, doubling over as his eyes rolled back in his head. His fangs were bared at this point as tears fell from his eyes. Fleur cried and squirmed, while Othello simply stood up. Cyanide wrote down a few notes, and the two left.

After a few hours, Fleur was exhausted. He was so tired. His eyes felt heavy as he forced himself to not sleep, sitting up shakily. He knew if he fell asleep now he wouldn't get his dinner. His expression was blank. It was always blank. There was no use feeling emotions in this place, it's not like anyone would care. He hugged his knees, hiding himself away in the dark corner as usual.

He hadn't realized he'd fallen asleep. Not until he woke up at the feeling of a few scientists grabbing his arms. Fleur thrashed, trying everything to get away from them.

Until he bit.

He bit whichever ones he could, injecting as much venom as he could gather into each one, the scientists dropping like flies. Fleur stared at his work, every scientist dead, lying around him like logs.

Tears.

Tears fell from Fleur's eyes as he looked around at all of them. He hadn't eaten. He was hungry. He was hungry..so he fed. He took a bite from one of the corpses, his shoulders shaking as he sobbed. He fed until he couldn't eat anymore, sobbing quietly. Until he realized.

The door was open.

The door was open.

Fleur saw his opportunity, and he took it. Darting out of the small enclosure and maneuvering around the large building, avoiding the grasps of anyone who tried to grab him. Light. He saw light. Something he'd never seen before. Fleur threw open the door and he ran. He ran as far as he could. He ran until he couldn't see anything anymore. He ran until his lungs felt like they would collapse. He ran until his legs gave out underneath him and he lost breath. Fleur whined as he rested, pressing his back against a tree. He panted heavily. He was lost. He was thirsty. He was tired. But he was free.

Fleur looked around at his surroundings, noticing the rising sun in the distance. His eyes widened as he noticed it, walking closer. He stood on the edge of the cliff, looking out at the sun with eyes wide in awe. His lips slowly rised. He laughed. He chuckled, then giggled, then laughed. Spinning around under the sunlight and falling over on his back, looking up at the beauty that was the sunrise.

It was a new day.
