"Your receipt is in the bag. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your evening." Spencer let out a big sigh after serving the final customer of the day. She turned to face her work best friend Bella who was standing at the till next to her, both giving each other the look. The look that says "I'm so ready to go home." "Right, I'll count the till if you and Curtis could go around and fix up all the displays," Bella bosses as she grabs the tray full of colourful notes. Spencer gives Bella the double thumbs up before walking over the pile of mess that earlier that day has been the jeans display.
"What's on for you after work today?" Spencer turns and sees her co-worker, Curtis. She stares in awe as his black fluffy mullet bounces and flows with each step he takes. "Sleep, study. Just the usual. Yourself?"
"Just going to the pub with mates."
"Sounds fun."
They both chuckle as they start folding the jeans. Spencers folding starts to slow and her attention is directed to her co-worker, watching him pay close attention to every movement he makes gave Spencer butterflies. Spencer had had an ever so slight crush on Curtis for the past month and sometimes she felt it seriously distracting her, especially since she couldn't tell anyone. See Curtis in his short time of working at clothes n things had already hooked up with one co-worker and had a fling with another so in everyone's eyes he was a bit of a player. Spencer knew that her work friends, especially Bella, would never approve so it was her own spicy secret. Spencer stood there watching the way his hands moved along the denim and pictured he was moving his hands over her like that. "You ready to go?" Spencers daydreaming was interrupted by Bella question. "Yep lets go." The three of them all walked out to the staff carpark together before saying their goodbyes. "I'll see you both tomorrow," Spencer called out as she drove off into the night.
"I'm home," Spencer called as she walked into the front door. Spencer walked into her room and stopped in front of the mirror. She looked at her face, a few hours earlier it was pretty, full and glowing but now it was droopy and warn down after a long day. Her hair which earlier was fluffy and each strand perfectly waved was now tied back into a low messy bun to keep out of her face. Her brown big brown eyes shrinking as her eye lids got heavy, Spencer was tired and ready for a good night sleep. She changed out of her work clothes into something more comfortable and walked down to the kitchen for dinner.
"Hey so I was speaking to Randall today and he was saying that they're hiring interns at Saint Kilda. He said to give him a call later tonight if you were interested." Spencer's dad said as she sat down at the dinner table. Excitement flowed through Spencers body, it was her dream to work for a professional football club for as long as she could remember. "Yes, that would be great." Spencer scoffed down her dinner, she didn't want to waste any time. Spencer and her dad walked into the office and sat down ready to call Randall.
The phone call went well and Spencer was offered a spot as an Intern at Saint Kilda footy club working with the junior development squad. This was a dream come true and a step in the right direction towards Spencers dream job. Saint Kilda was also the team Curtis supported and Spencer couldn't wait to get to work the next day to tell him the exciting news. She went to bed a very happy girl.
