I finish my eye makeup and head downstairs from my and Dom's room and jog into the garage to find Dom working underneath my car. Upon hearing me come in, Dom wheels out and looks me over.
"You look beautiful." He compliments me, as he stands up and dusts his hands off.
"Thanks." I smile, heat rising to my cheeks.
"But, you'd look better with this." Dom undoes his infamous cross necklace and walks over to me.
He motions for me to turn around and I comply. I feel the cold metal hit my chest and I look down, seeing the cross perched perfectly between my boobs.
"Perfecto. Jodidamente perfecto." Dom curses as he turns me back to face him.
Translation "Perfect. Fucking perfect."
"Gracias mi amor." I thank him, fiddling with the necklace.
Translation "Thank you, my love."
"My car done?" I change the subject to looking over at my beautiful car.
"Yep, she's top-notch. You've got enough NOS in there to blow yourself up, so please be careful with it. If you need help with anything in it, just let me know."
"Thank you so much, I love it." I run my fingers over the hood, admiring the work we had done.
"It's all you, you did an amazing job on the wrap, you don't see any of the things under the hood," Dom reassures me.
"Is everyone else ready?" I ask, opening my car door and plonking myself down in the driver's seat.
"Ready whenever you are." He responds with a small smirk.
"Then let's go." I return the smile and slam my car door closed.

With Dom behind me, I pull into Hector's race track. People swarm when they see our cars and Hector comes over, noticing our arrival.
We get out of our cars and immediately Dom walks off and into the crowd, mingling with some skanks.
"I smell-" I sniff the air teasingly.
"Skanks, why don't you two pack it up before we leave tread marks on your face?" Me and Letty stare down at the girls that are leaving little to the imagination.
"I was just talking to 'em." Dom tries to excuse himself.
"Yeah, whatever." I roll my eyes and walk past Dom, purposely nudging shoulders with him. I know I'm not dating him but I'm still hella possessive over him.
"1 race 2G buy-in, winner takes all. Hector holds the cash." I take a roll of cash out of my pocket and hand it to Hector.
"I don't have any money but what I do have is the pink slips to my car." Brian turns up out of nowhere with his car's pink slip.
"You can't just jump in the ring with Ali 'cause you think you can box." I snort.
"He knows I can box." Brian points at a very pissed Vince.
"I lose, you guys get my car, clean and clear. I win, I take the cash and I take the respect." Brian gives his conditions.
"Respect?" Dom repeats chuckling.
"To some people that's more important." Brian quips back, silencing Dom.
"This your car?" Dom knocks on the hood and Brian pops it open.
"Not a bad way to spend 10 grand," I comment looking at the engine.
"You see that shit? He's got enough NOS in there to blow himself up. Period." Letty motions at the same tank that was in my car.
"So what do you say, am I worthy?" Brian smiles at Dom already knowing his answer.
"We don't know yet, but you're in."
Everyone gets into their cars, including me for the race. We are all lined up along the starting line that two girls created with some spray paint. Revving, my engine Dom looks at me through his window.
"Que gane el mejor, buena suerte, mi amor." And with that, we are off with Hector's 'Go!'
Translation: "May the best win, good luck, my love."
Pressing down on my gas pedal, our four cars take off. Me in the lead, Dom barely behind me, followed by Danny, Edwin and Brian last. It stays like this almost til the end, Brian comes up next to me while Dom slightly speeds up. Flicking open my NOS switch, I zoom past Brian and Dom, across the finish line. People yell in surprise and congratulations.
"Here's what you won, right here." Hector hands me the cash and pink slip.
"Mia counts the cash," I announce handing off the money to her, slipping the pink slip into my back pocket.
"You were amazing!" Dom yells out, lifting me by the waist and kissing me on the lips.
"I learnt from the best." I giggle as he sets me down with a successful smile.
Letty glares me down at our interaction, if looks could kill I'd be gone long ago. Brian finally pulls up and leaves his car with a huge smile on his face, despite his smoking car.
"Was that fun?" Jesse asks popping his hood open. Everyone hollers as the hood opens and smoke billows out making me cough and laugh.
"What are you smiling about?" Dom asks flinging his arm around my shoulder, pulling me into him, his smile never faltering.
"I almost had you girl," Brian tells me with a smirk.
"You almost had me?" I scoff. "You never had me, or your car. Granny shifting, not double-clutching, as you should've. You're lucky that 100-shot of NOS didn't blow welds on the intake." People shout at my insult but Brian still smiles at me.
"Ask any racer, any real racer anyway. It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning's winning." Everyone shouts and claps at my sentence.
"Cops! Shit, cops. Let's go!" Leon yells from somewhere.
Everyone scrambles into their cars and gets away.
"See you back at the house, birthday girl." Dom winks at me, leading Mia to his car to get her home. A very pissed-off Letty joins me as I drive us back to our house where Dom's holding my birthday party.
"What's your problem with me, Let?" I don't bother to look at her and keep speeding down the highway as the cops follow other people.
"You think Dom likes you, but he doesn't want you. Do you honestly think Dom wants you? Your easy competition, Maddy." I roll my eyes at her, we always fought over Dom.
"So, he was the one who kissed you when you won a race. Or calls you 'My love' in Spanish. Acts like he's my boyfriend, when he's actually dating your sister. If you think he still likes you when he acts like this around me but barely acknowledges you when you're dating him. Good luck Letty." I scoff ranting to her, sometimes glancing at her just to see her jaw clenched looking straight ahead.
"Fuck you, Maddison." She says simply, slamming my car door shut as we pull up home.
"Bitch, you wish you were on the same level as me and don't slam my goddamn door or I'll slam your head into it, está bien?" I point at her angrily and march off to my party.
Translation: "Alright?"
