Liam held Damon's number in his hand, a tangible connection to the newfound bond they had forged at the pub. His heart, though filled with warmth from his time with Damon, couldn't help but waver as his phone rang, displaying Liam Gallagher's name on the screen. A mixture of guilt and longing washed over him, threatening to engulf his newfound connection.

Taking a deep breath, Liam answered the call, his voice betraying a touch of apprehension. "Hey, Gallagher. How've you been?"

Gallagher's voice, tinged with a mix of excitement and uncertainty, filled Liam's ear. "Liam, I've missed you, mate. I can't explain how much I want to be there with you. I hope you've been well."

A pang of guilt tightened Liam's chest, threatening to consume him. How could he explain his blossoming connection with Damon without hurting Gallagher? How could he betray the love they had shared, even if it was from a distance? Pushing the guilt aside, he replied, "I've been okay, Gallagher. Just taking things day by day."

After their call ended, Liam felt a heaviness settle over him. In an attempt to distract himself, he decided to venture out to the local shops. As he passed by a newsstand, a particular headline caught his eye. A picture of Gallagher, arm in arm with a girl, adorned the front page. His heart sank, a wave of hurt crashing over him.

Liam's mind raced with questions, doubts, and insecurities. Had Gallagher moved on? Was he finding solace in the arms of another? The pain of seeing Gallagher with someone else was almost unbearable, threatening to tear Liam apart.

Overwhelmed by his emotions, Liam found himself reaching for his phone, fingers trembling as he dialed Damon's number. As the call connected, he could barely keep the tremor out of his voice. "Damon, it's Liam. I... I saw something that hurt me deeply. Can we meet? I need someone to talk to."

Damon's voice, calm and reassuring, provided a lifeline in Liam's stormy sea of emotions. "Of course, Liam. I'm here for you. Let's meet at our favorite spot by the riverbank. We'll talk it through."

Minutes later, Liam found himself sitting beside Damon, the sound of rushing water providing a soothing backdrop to their conversation. The pain and vulnerability spilled from Liam's lips as he poured his heart out, sharing his fears, his doubts, and the image that had shattered his world.

Damon listened attentively, his eyes filled with empathy and understanding. When Liam finally finished speaking, a silence hung in the air, heavy with unspoken emotions.

Damon's voice broke the silence, soft and comforting. "Liam, I can't pretend to know what's going on in Gallagher's life. But I can tell you this—you deserve to be with someone who cherishes and respects you, someone who brings you happiness. You're not alone in this, Liam. I'm here for you, no matter what."

Liam's heart felt a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness that had consumed him. He looked into Damon's eyes, recognizing the sincerity and compassion reflected there. In that moment, he realized that he had a choice—to dwell in the pain of Gallagher's possible betrayal or to embrace the connection he had found with Damon, a person who saw and valued him for who he was.

With a renewed sense of strength, Liam reached out and gently touched Damon's hand. "Thank you, Damon."
