When Gold Ingot woke up, his first instinct was to check on the little thing he considered his pet, and to his surprise, it grew! Just not in the.. expected way.

Instead of the one speck becoming bigger and bigger, it seemed to.. undergo something similar to mitosis, in a way? Needless to say, what once was one was now a ton of different little flashing specks, filling up a small bit of that small container he was keeping it in temporarily.

He took off the lid to it, sticking his finger into it to see how it felt, and it seemed to behave as sort of a liquid, just not wet. The staticky thing clung onto his finger, causing him to shake off some of the bits from it back into the container.

He went down to the kitchen, grabbing a simple breakfast, before quickly going back to his room and giving a portion of it to the weird matter he's keeping.

It sunk down a bit slowly, Gold Ingot watching as it engulfed the bit of food the thing was given, before dumping it into the bigger tank, putting the leftovers he didn't eat into the food container and putting some water into the drink container.

And after that, he went out and started getting things ready, as today was a competition day! After the day's over, he'll check up on his.. whatever the static is made out of, and see what's happened with it!

...

...

Well, all the decorations have disappeared.

The static ate the fake plants and feeding containers! How did it even manage?! Is it made of some weird corrosive acid?! Oh well, at least it's.. eating???

In a state of pure confusion, he put his hand in the static to feel for the containers he put in, only to feel there's... no bottom. After a certain point down, the feeling of the static subsided, and it just felt like air. What was going on with this thing?

He tried to feel for something for a bit, maybe the plants and container that it seemed to take, before something touched him, causing him to pull away and yelp in fear. He felt something, and despite it not being a lot of contact, it.. felt alive. Something's living in that static, and he needs to figure out what's going on.

He tried yelling into it, saying "HELLO??" multiple times with no response. He just sighed, as it obviously wasn't working. It seems as if you can't hear things from it, other than low white noise. Maybe the static is acting as a sound barrier, or something, and that's why you can't hear anything.

He just groaned in disappointment, before thinking of something. Maybe if he wrote a note, he'd get a response! So, he got a piece of paper, a pen, and sat down at his desk, writing a nice letter to whoever the fuck lived on the other side.

It read;

"Dear whoever you are,

It's nice to meet you, I'm Gold Ingot! Unfortunately, I don't know any other ways to communicate with you, so I'm writing this letter to you, how nice!

I guess you should get to know me, if you decide to write something back! I host a popular object show called Paper Puppets, it's on its second season right now! We're in the middle of 'the merge,' which basically means the teams that were established before are now gone!

I also have 3 cousins, and only 2 of them I can manage to bear. If you want to take him off my hands, I'm completely willing to shove him in the static that's making me able to communicate with you right now. Actually, never mind, you shouldn't have to live with him.

I feel like i'm writing too much about myself, I want to hear about you! Like, what's up with your life? Is anything similar between us? Are we alternate versions of ourselves?? :OO

I'll go ahead and end this letter now so you have a chance to read and reply. There will be a separate piece of paper for you to write on included with this!!

Sincerely,
-Gold Ingot"

He sighed as he finished the letter, folding it up into an envelope, dropping it plus things the things needed into the static.

He sat there for a few hours, waiting for any type of response, before night fell. He just sighed disappointedly, maybe the thing he felt was part of his imagination, or maybe not a sentient being.

He went down to the kitchen, heating up some leftovers from a while ago to eat, just so he wouldn't starve to death or whatever.

He was midway through eating before he had another sudden realization. If the thing he felt was alive, it would probably need food, right? And maybe the thing is another object! Maybe they didn't speak English, maybe they were from a completely different dimension!

He decided to grab a water bottle from the fridge and pack up the excess food he didn't eat, labelling them both as food and water. They'd know what food and water is in english, right? Even then, it looks like it, so it doesn't matter too much.

He went back into his room, hesitantly putting his hands through the box of static again, holding the things out for the being on the other side. He stayed like that for a little bit, before he felt them get taken by whatever was in there.

He was about to pull his hands out before one of them was gripped, feeling something being dragged on his hand before the thing let go. He took his hands out of the static, immediately looking at what they did to his hand.

It said 'Thank you.' They used the pen that was given by Gold Ingot to write it.

The handwriting felt eerily familiar to him, however. He just... couldn't quite figure out why. Why was this handwriting familiar?? He had no idea, and he sighed in disappointment.

Gold Ingot crawled himself into his bed, drifting off to sleep. He was tired, he stayed up way too long waiting for that letter that never arrived.

The very last thing his mind thought of was a bright blue color, encapsulating his vision before he peacefully drifted off to sleep.
