If life had soundtracks, my dream right now would be traveling with my husband in our new white Kia Soul, heading towards Ilhabela to the sweet sound of "Soaring Mind" by Anthony Geringer. But no, that was the melody my heart pumped through my body. The song that Ezra and I sang together was "Sugar" by Maroon Five.
This wasn't our first trip together, but it was our first of many honeymoons.
"Put on your favorite one, love," he suggested as the current song was ending.
"Which one? There are so many..." I replied, just to confirm if he really remembered which one it was.
"You're going to be amazed because I remember perfectly that it's the one by Jonas Blue, 'Mama.' Isn't it?" he countered, and I hid that smile that crossed my face with the palm of my hand. "Isn't it this one, love? Yes, it is! I know it is!"
He was eager to hear my confirmation, but he already knew he was right.
"I know it is! It's this one! I even know the track number on the USB drive..." I shrugged, raising my eyebrows as if I had no idea what I was saying, while he changed the sound to track twenty-seven.
The music started playing, and no matter how many hundreds of times I had listened to it, it always seemed like the best song to me. And the best part? He knew about that.
"Enjoy it, love!" he said with a smile on his face, and I let my hands reveal the smile that undeniably radiates the feeling of life: love.
