Will's P.O.V.
My wife kept going on and on about what she saw two of our daughters friends doing at Walmart. I mean, Jada was disgusted! I didn't know what to think of it. I almost figured maybe she "thought" it was their friends, Beyoncé and Onika, but maybe it really wasn't. I knew that Beyoncé was the daughter of a pastor. I also was aware that the Christian holy book says the same thing the Muslim holy book says about homosexuality...It's wrong! So why would Beyoncé allow herself to be led into temptation like that? I felt so sorry for her father at the time...
Us fathers and husbands have it hard. Especially those of us who are Muslim or even Christian because Allah has commanded us to be leaders and providers of the people in our households. As a husband, my responsibility was to be very gentle with my wife. To love her with much affection, treat like a queen, provide for her, protect her and also lead her. Most husbands like the part about leading and being submitted to. But they forget about giving their wives a reason to submit to them. Who would want to be submissive to a husband that abuses and neglects the needs of his wife? That's what they don't consider.
Now, as a father...I'm responsible for loving, protecting and providing for my princesses as well. But most importantly, I'm supposed to teach them how to live a life that is pleasing to Allah. A life that honors him. Which is why I've always taken them to the Mosque for Friday night service and also taught them what the Qur'an says about certain things. As far as Jada goes, she has always shown them the example of how a Muslim young lady should carry herself. I wanted them to never forget their morals or allow themselves to be led into temptation. Like Beyoncé obviously had been....
