Nate's POV
It's been days since that night. Sarah and I have been texting each other quite frequently these days. And yet I didn't have the gut to tell her how I feel about her. Aden was right. I should've asked her for a date, not just some coffee meets up. Though it could also be counted as a date, but I was smacked on the head when I said that to Aden. As he quoted, I have long way to go.
After a few deep breaths, I decided to ask her out through the text. I really do want to ask her directly when we meet up during our regular coffee meetup, but unfortunately, something came up at her work.
Nathan Jones: Hey.
My leg tapped anxiously as I stared at the phone screen, waiting for her response. I have never felt this relentless in waiting for a reply. After a few minutes of the torturous moments, finally she replied.
Sarah Bailey: Hey, you. What's up?
Nathan Jones: Are you free tomorrow?
Sarah Bailey: Not sure yet. Why ask?
Nathan Jones: Do you wanna go watch a movie with me?
It was a long silence. She didn't reply as fast as she did a few moments ago. I sighed in disappointment as I locked my phone since it's obvious that she's not going to reply to the text I sent. Perhaps she's trying to find a polite way to reject my offer. Rejecting me. As I was about to get up from the chair, my phone vibrated signaling that a new text slipped in.
Sarah Bailey: You mean like a date?
Sarah Bailey: Jkjk
Sarah Bailey: Sure. I don't mind accompanying you.
'No!' She thought it was just another meet up. This is not what I want her to think of.
Nathan Jones: Yes. A date.
She was typing, but then she disappeared. And back to typing and gone again. But this time she didn't type back. I almost believed she was going to ghost me but after about half a minute, I got her reply.
Sarah Bailey: Okay.
I almost jumped in delight. Took a while to reply just a sentence, but it's worth it. I bit back a stupid grin as I typed the reply.
Nathan Jones: Great! I pick you at 6??
Sarah Bailey: Okay. See you tmr.
Nathan Jones: You too.

Sarah's POV
I decided to have a warm shower to calm my nerves. Ever since Nate texted me yesterday, I felt like the butterflies in my stomach went crazy each moment passed by. The closer the time, the crazier they get. Which made me spend more time in the shower in hopes that they would finally calm down. It helped a little, at least. Which is far better than having to get ready with chaotic thoughts running through my head. And getting ready without having a straight mind would lead me into clumsiness and forgetting a lot of things. And I don't want that for my first date with him.
First date.
Those words felt so awkward yet so right. And here the butterflies were back start to hype up again. Stupid pretty animal.
