We arrived in LA around 4pm west coast time. My head was still spinning from throwing up on the plane. I could have swore that plane was lopsided. It was probably the amount vomit that didn't make it into the bucket. Made the plane tip.
Anyways when we got to LA there was another surprise. We weren't actually staying in LA. We were staying in Oak Park a small city somewhere north or south of LA. We were almost out the airport, and good thing too. I hated airports, all the plane noises and the whole carry your bag everywhere. It just wasn't me, I too lazy to do all that running. There were even more surprises when I saw my grandparents outside the airport waiting to pick us up.They really don't like me or my mom. Mostly it's my Grandma that doesn't like us. She gets pissed easily when ever.something is dirty. One time she got mad at me cause of my room. It's was messy but at least I knew where everything was I told her. She got so mad red little veins started popping out of her head. I thought she was gonna explode. But that was 3 years ago now I'm 15 so I know better ways to tick her off. That was the last time we had spoke to them after my mom got in a Facebook war with my aunt on that side.
"Jimmy were over here!" My Grandma called. My dad turned to the right. Pretty much dropping all his bags right there at the sight of his mother the she-demon. " Mom, dad!" He cried. Both me and my mom looked at each other like oh lord as we walked over to greet them. Her old red headed ,wrinkly, pale self hadn't changed a bit. Except with the pale part. She looked like she had got to much sun the pass few days. " Ah it's so nice to see you all. Jayden, Marcie." She said as she looked at us and bowed her head politely.
" Enna."said my mom fake smiling and shaking her hand. I could tell mom couldn't shake her grip on her hand. Everytime they use to meet Grandma would always shake her hand firm and tightly so the feeling left her hand. " Ok, you can let go now." My mom mumbled. She wasn't gonna shake the death grip. Finally my mom pulled back. The redness in her fingers were gone. I knew I was the next victim when she turned to me." Wow, Jayden you look like you haven't lost a bit of..." I looked at her trying to put all the words in the correct sentence. All that came was this. " Did you just call me fat?" I Studdard the words out. But by the time they were out she had already ran off to the car where my grandpa was waiting. They had a black Kia optima. I took one look at the car and this came out. " Dang, Grandma's not so old anymore." My mom laughed and my dad gave me a look. Not off to a good start in California.
We drove for what seemed like hours. With only the sound of my dad and Grandma playing Ruzzle. I don't get it your sitting a seat away from each other. Why did they have to play like their s whole state away. My grandpa was more of a silent person he didn't really say anything. But he still was a cool guy.
Finally we had made it to Oak Park. People walked the streets, there were garden shops and everything you'd find in a small little area. " Wow this place is beautiful." Said my mom with excitement. She was always good at moving. " Yes! Um there are grapevines near where we live it's quite amazing." Said my Grandma. She was faking. I didn't need to know that I have eyes. We drove up to the hills to where the houses were. On the way there we saw my new school. Oak Park High School home of the Eagles. The school was small from what I saw. But I guess I'll have to see when I go to school on Monday. We turned on to a road full a of kids playing in the streets. Most of them just stared at me through the window. I was glad when we passed I didn't like being the shiny new toy. We drove all the way down the street to a beige two story house. In the drive way was a sign that said welcome home. I jumped out the car faster than my Grandma could say this is your new home. It was still cold so I grabbed my coat the sun was shining I could feel the heat from it warming my skin. I looked across the street. There was a boy about my age or a little older walking towards me. I braced myself I knew the fat girl jokes were coming.
" Hey, I'm Joshua Mills. I live across the street. And you must be new?" His voice was charming almost fairy tale like. " Hi I'm Jayden Myers, and yes I am a little new." I said. I felt my whole life pass by with him in it. " A little, what you've stayed in Oak Park before?" He asked. I was under a spell of his dark hair, tanned skin but a little pale from the winter and his enchanting blue eyes. " Yeah I used to stay here when I was younger with my grandparents. I never thought I'd be moving here." I said. I felt my knuckles turning red. " Oh so you didn't live California, before." He said. I kind of wondered how he knew that. " People person I can tell. And no I didn't live in California, I lives in Florida." I said as I pulled some if my hair behind my ear. I bit my lip. I had a really bad habit of that. " Oh that's cool ,well it's nice to meet you Jayden Myers." He said with a charming smile that showed all his pearly teeth. He walked back over to his house on the other side of the street. He was like the boy next door. So hot and so unavailable. I know some girl already had him. So it would only be a fantasy.
