A Dragon's Flight

Chapter 1: Curious Reno!

"Mama!" she cried. Her knees were raining tears of blood. She, you see is a very important person in my life and this tale. She, prefers the name Reno; Reno Kazane. A young child which one's eyes are filled with determination and magic. If she was to be hurt, I would put my whole life on it. She just had to try riding a broom and fall off instead.

"Mama! My knee hurts!" wailed Reno. How is it that the the young ones are able to cry as loud as a siren?

Oh well, there really is nothing i can do about it. Back to the story, she fell off her broom and her knees were bleeding. It was bleeding all the way home.

"Reno! What's wrong?" asked her one and only mother, Rini.

"I-I fell off the broom and wounded my knee! It hurts!" cried Reno.

"RENO! What did i tell you about magic? It doesn't exist! Stop wasting your time and come here so i can treat it!" scolded her mother.

"B-but I... I just love magic!! Mama! Why don't you love magic like i do?! You were also at her show with me! You saw the amazing acts of Grand Tiamora! So why... Why don't you like magic anymore...?"Reno cried, whose eyes were now filled with tears.

"Dear... I only want what's best for you.. I can't tell you why I don't but... i'll tell you when you turn 12, dear," her mother replied with a sigh. "Besides, believing in you is your magic."

So from that point onwards, Reno was very excited and determined when her mother told her about the school for witches. She did all her chores every single day. Oh, what a young child she is! It's all so much for someone like me; ______. However, you will know more about me throughout the entire story. As days passed, she began to feel more and more confident in herself and started to practice a few of the simpler spells like - "Qiande Metmorphu" or "Lumina Aomi" which basically translates to transformation magic and light magic. Her mother help her through all of this as she had experience of it herself. She taught many of the basic spells but Reno couldn't seem to get them right; as if she didn't have the ability to cast magic. That didn't stop her from trying though. She continued to work hard and never stopped until she could master them.

I could tell she was a very strong youngster. She had a unique sense of magic awaiting her and her eyes never stopped shining like the starry night above her. The next day, Reno headed off into the forest to find some exotic berries which can only be found there. Finding them was easy, as she had grown a beautiful tree with luscious fruits and berries hanging on the same stems, leaves and branches. This tree was quite special as no other tree could bear more than one fruit. Her tree had many fruits hidden in the olive-green leaves. As she climbed, it embellished her with sparks of light that shone like diamonds.
