Rosa Romano

These past few days...well months honestly have been great. I'm so excited for the masquerade ball though Alessandro has been a little strange. He's been acting on edge but I'm sure it's nothing, I hope. I noticed when Athena and I speak of the ball, he tenses like something bad is going to happen. I don't understand it.

I tried talking to him about it, but he tries to dodge the question. I tried asking his brothers about it. Antonio shrugged it off and Angelo had this look like he wanted to say something but couldn't and shrugged it off too. I swear these three are weird as ever. Whatever, if they all keep denying it and shrugging it off, then it must not be important at all.

Let's just hope I'm right about that statement.

Athena and i are hanging out at her place.

"Where's Carlos at? Is he at work?" Athena looked at me. "Actually no, he's with his parents." I looked at her. "Really? Sorry for sounding so shocked, he never talks about his parents so i was a little shocked."

She laughed softly.

"Your good hun." She smiled at me. "They came down to visit him, so he's showing them around Los Angeles." "Aw that's so sweet of him." She got up and went to the kitchen. "Hungry? Want me to cook something or wanna eat out?" I thought about it.

"Whatever is easier for you hun." She thought about it. "I'll cook something, don't wanna waste any money." I got up and walked over to her and sat on the kitchen counter. "We gotta talk about something. I need your opinion on this." She was cutting up vegetables. "I'm listening bestie."

I sighed softly.

"So recently, Alessandro's been acting weird." I watched her eyebrows scrunch. "Acting weird? Like how?" I swinged my legs, leaning back on the counter a slight bit.

"Everytime I mention something about the masquerade ball and how excited I am to be going, I notice he tenses up or tries to dodge or avoid the question. I tried asking Antonio and Angelo about it. Antonio shrugged it off and Angelo looked like he wanted to tell me but ended up shrugging it off as well. It was really weird." Athena stopped what she was doing, turning to me with her hand on her hip and looked at me confused.

"Really? That's honestly really weird hun. Did you try asking him why he's been acting like that?" I nodded.

"I tried too but he dodges that question as well."

Athena thought for a moment. She's got her thinking face on.

"Maybe something bad might happen, like someone is going to be there but he isn't sure and maybe he's trying not to worry about it and doesn't want to worry you about it? I mean that's all I could really think of honestly. If anything, I would say the same thing as well bestie."

I nodded and looked up. It was weird to think about. Even Athena said the same thing, not to worry about it. I don't understand, who could possibly be there that he doesn't wanna see or whatever? Maybe I'm overthinking it at this point.

I ended up forgetting about it all and Athena ended up making Cheesy Tortellini Bake, quite my favorite. I remember my grandma on my mom's side used to make it all the time when I was little. I loved every part of it. Eating it brings back memories. I took a spoonful, letting it savor in my mouth. I smiled warmly at the feeling of swallowing it down after chewing. "How is it bestie?" She watched me. I looked at her. "That's amazing. Just like my nana and how she makes it." Athena smiled and took a bite.

"Oh shit...that's delicious. That was my first time making bestie." I smiled softly. "You did a bang up fucking job bestie!" Athena laughed softly. "I try."
