Carmen officially made it through her 2 day of school. She was coming out of 8th period as the final bell of the day rung. She walked out of a side exit door with her airpods blasting as usual. She walked down the same steps she walked up this morning. She continued through the student parking lot noticing a person standing next to their car freaking out. It was Devi and she definitely seemed to be going through some sort of mid life crisis. She paused her music and took a step closer to her.

"Devi?" she called out.

Devi whips her head towards her with a look of fury. Carmen grimaced as she noticed the black spray paint on Devi's car. She had talked to Devi trying to calm her down and said that she'd help with finding who did it. Carmen already knew who did it, she remembered making fun of his T's along with his turtle. Devi left, and Carmen walked around looking for the "tortured soul" hot pocket. It wouldn't be extremely hard to find him. The hot pockets usually only ever hangout in 2-3 places around school. The student lounge, the parking lot, and the nasty old bathrooms. Since school is out there is only one place he could be.

As she predicted she ended up finding him still skating around with the hot pockets.

"What a bunch of losers," she thought.

This would be the second time this week she's stormed up to Ethan in a parking lot to yell at him. She decided she didn't want an audience this time. When she got close enough she grabbed his wrist and pulled him away from lurking eyes.

"Are you here to take me up on my offer, princess?" He smirked moving a curl out of his face.

"Are you done?" she said crossing her arms and staring daggers into him.

He could tell she wasn't in a joking mood, and he shifted uncomfortably under her gaze.

"Did you spray paint 'stupid bitch' on Devi's car?"

He thought for a second before replying, "no i spray painted stupid bitch on Ms. Diaz's car." he said with confidence. Carmen opened her phone pulling up a picture of Devi next to her car angry.

"You sure?" she said showing him the photo.

He took her phone out of her hands and analyzed the photo. He handed her phone back a minute or so later saying,

"oh, i thought that it was Ms. Diaz's car. Sorry about that." She rolled her eyes.

"Don't say sorry to me, say sorry to Devi. And find a way to fix it." she took a step closer bring her face as close to his as comfortably as she could.

He couldn't help but look down at her, memorizing her eyes...lips...and everything else on her face. He thought she was insanely beautiful, but extremely stubborn

"and if you don't..." she whispers "i'll tell her, and you'll have to deal with crazy Devi." She backed away and waited for a response from him.

He just nodded, and she started on her walk through the student parking lot to the neighborhood she lives in. She was proud it was so easy for him to agree to fix Devi's car.

It was 7:47 pm and her parents still weren't home. Carmen was in the kitchen cooking Penne alla vodka. It was her favorite pasta dish. She put some in a bowl and let the rest sit on the counter for now. She took her bowl and a cup of water up to her room. She placed both on her nightstand while she looked for something to watch on tv. Carmen was wearing a blue oversized t-shirt and black nike pros. She decided to put on the Outer banks, because it reminds her so much of her summer in Miami. She misses it everyday and wish she'd gone there every summer. She misses the food, the experience, and the freedom. She picks up her bowl but before she could take a bite, there was a knock at her window. It was strange because who knocks at a 2nd floor window. She crept up to the window, moving he blinds checking to see if it's someone she knows. She sighs loudly before unlocking the window and returning to her bed to pause her show. She sat on the edge of the bed watching him climb through her window.

"You know i have a door right?" she said teasing him but still anger in her attitude.

"Yeah, but i wanted to make a grand entrance for my royal highness" he said taking a bow before her.

She chucked a pillow at him and telling him to shut up. They both busted out laughing at the pillow that stuck him in the face. Once it quieted down between the two, he spoke,

"I apologized to Devi, and i cleaned the spray paint off of her car."

Carmen watched him attentively, trying to decipher if he was lying or not.

"Okay...so you climbed through my bedroom window just to tell me that...?" she questioned as she stood up from her bed and crossed her arms.

He shifted his weight, and scratched the back of his head like he had done the day prior in the student area.

"You know..." he says taking a step closer to her.

"I've never been yelled at...or threatened like that before."

Carmen breaks out a genuine laugh, "I find that incredibly hard to believe"

she was cut off when he said "I think it's kinda hot... yeah i mean when you were yelling at me and threatening me i was like damn..., Carmen's kinda sexy"

Her smile dropped and her face felt like it was on fire. She looked away from him saying a small thanks.

"What the actual fuck" she thought.

She knew how little space there was between them. She especially knew when his hand brushed against her arm. It felt like her skin tingled. He raised a finger to pull her chin so she was looking at him.

"You don't have to be shy princess, it's just a complement." he said with soft look.

Her eyes connected with his and she felt drawn to his gravity. Soon enough his face is inches from hers, he never broke eye contact with her lips. His hands at some point had snaked around her waist, she could feel his fingers tracing the letters of her nike pro's waist band.

"Carmen, mi amor, we're home!" her father shouted from downstairs.

The two teens jumped away from each other, and then Carmen began to shove him towards the window.

"Adiós, princess" was the last thing he said before he closed the window and she fixed the blinds.

She retook her spot on her bed and began eating her pasta. Her bedroom door opened and in it stood her mother.

"¿Qué tal la escuela hoy, mí hija?" (How was school today, mí hija?) Carmen finished chewing her bite of food while she thought about what to say.

"It was good, told my spanish teacher i had a parakeet," her mother chuckled.

"Me alegro de que hayas tenido un buen día, tamira bién gracias por preparar la cena esta noche, mí hija." (I'm glad you had a good day, also thank you for preparing dinner tonight mí hija.) Carmen nodded as she took another bite of pasta. Her mother closed her bedroom door and almost immediately she picked up her phone.

"I'll see you at school tomorrow Carmen 'mi amor'" he wrote to her.

"Shut up, idiot" she replied before tossing her phone across her bed.

She hit play on the remote and picked up the bowl of pasta again. She couldn't get her mind off of Ethan no matter how hard she tried. The way his hands made her skin tingle, or the way his breath made her face flush bright red. Every time she thought about their interactions she has to keep telling herself that she doesn't "do" bad boys and that he's just using her. She kept telling herself things that she doesn't even fully believe anymore.
