"Well, well... So what brings you here?"
Lucifer's voice pierces the silence as he glances up from his desk. His eyes glisten in the lamp light and it's obvious he's tired. The lack of sleep and fatigue is prominent as the man works.
MC builds up the courage to talk, "sorry to intrude.. I'm not doing too well-"
There's hesitance in their voice but they wait for Lucifer to answer.
"Panicking? Why is that?" Lucifer asks with a raised eyebrow, his head tilted with slight curiosity for the human that stood before him.
"Just... A random panic attack, no reason - is it okay if I stay with you - please...?" MC manages to squeak out.
"Why'd you choose me to stay with?"
"Everyone else is asleep," MC sighs softly, "and I think I need some... change in space" He joins Lucifer at his desk. "What are you doin'?"
MC's eyes dart across the mountains of paper work that sit before him. He glances into Lucifer's eyes with pure curiosity.
"Just going over some of my work; I'm busy, and yet I'm not- if that makes sense?" Lucifer sighs with a stressful look that weighed his brows down into a furrow, "so... You just want to hang out here with me? That is all?"
MC freezes a bit but nods, "yeah sorry - not a good night! I just know I shouldn't be alone right now-"
"Please don't bother apologising," Lucifer speaks softly as he finally finds himself looking at the human in front of him instead of his work. "I'm fine with you staying here with me, but if you don't mind me asking this... Do you have some other issues you're struggling with, other than being alone?"
"Mm, all the issues I have you already know about - haha..." MC laughs awkwardly, "it's nothing I can't handle! I just... Know when I need help. You're stuck being my companion for tonight!"
"Oh please, you don't scare me," Lucifer smirked ever so slightly and laughed as he took in everything MC had said. He sat in silence for a mere moment and then he crosses his arms across his chest. "I guess I am your companion for tonight, huh?"
A small chuckle escapes the brooding man as he leans back in his desk chair as he studies MC. He almost seems to be enjoying this moment between them and a 'softer' side to Lucifer seem to have been presented tonight.
"Hmm, are you sure I don't scare you Lucii?" MC grins over at Lucifer with a playful retort, "I'll try not to make this a nightly occurrence but no promises!"
"You know you don't scare me," a small smile breaks out on the demon of pride's face, "you're welcome here whenever. It's nicer here with everyone asleep."
