Seraphina

Alphina slowly crept toward me. She obviously doesn't realize that it's easy to see a wolf, even if she is coming at me from the side.  I swiftly turned and blocked her attack.

If only I could get her in the dang cage!

"Hey sis, calm down so I don't have to sedate you again!!! the Hunter is near and we have to keep you safe!!"

At the mention of the hunter Alphina growled, yet she still wouldn't back down. "You give me no choice!" I grumbled, then shot her with a blow dart.

I quickly opened the "door" to our house and dragged her in. When I say house I mean our den, as in wolf's den, as in a hollow hidden in the forest. The cave wall is covered in crystals of many colors. The most consistent of colors in this particular cave are purple and aqua. The stones are what keeps the cave lit, they glow in the dark and leave beautiful colorful beams giving our home a mystical allusion.

The most important part is the entrance. It is covered in vines and leaves keeping the den disguised and keeping us hidden.

You see, we have a problem. At 11 my sister was attacked by a wolf.Turns out it was more than that, it was a werewolf.

Her first time turning was when we found out it was a werewolf that scratched her. In trying to contain her, our mother was killed. I hid in my room while Alphina tore the house apart and when she finally fell asleep I was too terrified to leave the room. In the morning she woke, cold and afraid, with no recollection of what she had done.  We didn't know what else to do so we told the town's people what had happened and when they turned on us we ran.

That is when we found the den. As  11 and 12 year old children we learned what rejection felt like, and learned to take care of each other. We are each others safety nets. I protect her from the hunter, and occasionally the town's people. I also protect the town's people from her when she is in wolf form.

She is my safety net in a totally different way. She uses her enhanced senses to provide food and warn me if there is danger while she is in human form.  She also keeps my emotions in check. I was literally raised with wolves, well, a wolf. I have troubles with human emotion because I have been in more of an animal state for six years. I am trying to figure things out and give Alphina a good life,  it just gets a little hard.

Time to lay down and wait for her to wake up.

" Sera. . .Seraphina?!?" I woke to Alphina's concerned calls.

" I'm here Alpha." I answered.

Alphina let herself out of her cage and came to my side.

"What happened this time?" She asked. She tried to hide her fear but I was use to reading her emotions. The tranq gun sometimes made her forget. She can tell what she's doing and now remembers it when she shifts back, but she still has trouble controlling her wolf. I wish I had someone who could train her.

"No one got hurt. You turned, I chased you, we almost got caught by the hunter, I tranquilized you, put you in the cage, fell asleep, and now we're here." She looked less traumatized, but I could tell something was still bugging her.

"Whats up?"

"I-I-I . . . I just wish I could control myself in wolf form. I hate not knowing if I'm going to wake up in a bath of a town person's blood, or worse, yours. I-I-I d-don't want to hurt you."  She explained.

I smirked, "you couldn't hurt me if you tried.Plus, I'm pack. You protect your pack. "

She looked a lot more stable, but I know she's still worried.
