When I wake up I feel drowsy and in pain. I remember being hit in the stomach and the gun shots. I remember.... the feeling of loss and I feel tears sting my eyes. I hear a cough at the door and I look up to see Jordon.
"You're awake" I nod "I'll get Mason, he's been pacing around like a wild lion in a cage."
I give a nod and she walks out. I lay down and face away from the door. I don't look up when I hear someone enter the room.
"Rose, baby are you up?" I hear Mason ask
"Yeah Mason I'm up." I answer
He walks around the bed and looks at me. I shiver from the coolness of the room. He gently scoots me over and lays down next to me. I scoot closer to feel his warmth. I lay my head on his chest remembering that first night when we were in that tree. Mason runs my cheek and I relise that I've been crying silently. All it takes is that gentle touch for me to break down.
"It's ok Rose, let it out, I'm so sorry. I should have been there I can't believe that I trusted him and let him hurt you like that. I'm so sorry. This is all my fault baby. He says and his voice cracks and I know he's crying.
I reach up and kiss his tears away. Our tears coming together when I press my cheek to his.
"Now stop that, it wasn't your fault, it's the past and I know that it hurts now but maybe we can try again ok. And you will make an amazing father." I say.
I rest my head on his chest and begin to fall asleep to his heart beat once again.
