It's officially been a month since I posted on social media, asking for someone to tell me their life story. And let me tell you, I've gotten about zero interesting replies. I received two messages the last month. I asked both of them to tell me something about they're life very briefly. I didn't know what to do with what they told me. It seemed pretty basic; one was born in Australia, moved to New York for her mother's job and that was basically it.
I went to grab a coffee this morning at 10, it's now 11 am and I'm still sitting at this tiny coffee shop near my house. I used to come here a lot to study when I was in high school. Staff here comes and goes so it's not like somebody knows what I want to order the second I come in or anything.
Grey headphones sit on top of my head, playing music in my ears. I'm having a nice moment listening to some Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. I'm also trying to figure out how I'm gonna handle things when I do end up getting a more interesting message from someone. I typed some things in on my laptop.
I'll meet up as soon as possible. I'll spend the first couple of days getting to know them so the conversation won't feel too forced. That's where my plan ends. Maybe it's obvious that I don't know much more. I don't know where I'm gonna end up having to go to meet with someone. And maybe it'll take way longer to finish then I'd expect.
I went for an iced coffee since it's actually a nice day in Ohio. I'm wearing denim flared jeans, a white crop top and a patterned white and grey flannel. Just when I'm about to turn of my laptop, a message pops up in the corner of my screen. A Twitter dm. I immediately click on it and wait impatiently for it to load. When it does, I see a short text message. I click on the profile to see who texted me.
His username say 'h_styles' so I can't really know his first name. I mean, I guess Styles isn't it. I look at his profile picture. It's a picture of what I would guess is him on a motorcycle. I can't see his face though. He has a tinted visor so the little bit of light that shines on his helmet, doesn't really let me see anything.
I click back to the chat and read his message.
"Hello, I saw your tweet about looking for someone for a school project. I wasn't sure if you were still looking since it was a month ago that you posted that. I wanted to let you know that I'm up for it, let me know"
I text back, hoping his story is a little more interesting for everyone to listen to.
"Hey! I am still looking for someone. Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?"
He starts typing almost instantly. Less than a minute later, another text appears from him.
"Yeah sure. I'm Harry. I live in Detroit on my own. I'm 24. I like to make music and play around with my band at small clubs but it's nothing too serious. That's must be all"
I think about what to type back to him. I decide to just go for it and meet up with him as soon as possible. Detroit is a good couple hours away from where I live I'll have to figure out how we're gonna do that without having to drive all the way there every day.
"I'd like to meet up sometime. We've got around two months so it should work!" I try come across excited. I partly am, but I'm also kind of anxious about meeting up with a total stranger in a different state.
"Great! I'm free tomorrow if that isn't too early?" He replies.
"That'll work. I think I can be there around two pm" I text back.
He gives me the address of a nice cafe where he insisted on meeting. I'm relieved that it's a public space. If anything gets weird, there are people around me that could help. I actually feel kind of good about meeting Harry.
I guess his name is Harry Styles then.
I shut off my laptop and but it in my bag. I skip the song currently playing through my headphones and keep skipping until a song comes on that I actually want to listen to.
Before deciding to head home, I quickly text Ethan that I'm meeting someone. I take a screenshot of Harry's profile and send it to him. It doesn't take him long to text back.
I love that about him. He's always on his phone, so he always texts me back straight away.
"Girl he looks so hot, I'm jealous. Call me tomorrow when you're done. I need the details"
A small smile crawls upon my face reading his message. I answer him, telling him he's the first to know how it went. I get up and pick up my things from the chair next to me before leaving the coffee shop.
I promised Audrey that I'd buy her a chocolate bar on my way home. I quickly stop by at Costco, before continuing my way back.
When I get home, I hand the snack to her and tell my mom that I need to leave to Detroit tomorrow. The brunette seems confused at first, but once I get the story across she helps me figure out a little plan.
Jennifer isn't my birth mom. She adopted me when I had just turned five years old. I'm very aware of who my parents were but I simply just understand why they couldn't keep me anymore.
I'm happy about the way things are right now and I wouldn't change a thing.

Thanks for reading again! Chapters will get progressively longer the further we get into the story so keep your eyes peeled. I can't wait for her to meet Harry!
Any tips are always welcome!
