Faint Memories

I hope that when you're grown
and you have kids of you're own
You'll tell them about us
You'll tell them we were friends since 5th grade
You'll tell them we were there for every death
You'll tell them we were there for every breakup
You'll tell them we were there for every injury
You'll tell them that I always loved you unconditionally

When I am grown,
When I have kids of my own,
I'll tell them stories of us
I'll tell them stories of our late night texts
I'll tell them stories of our school days
I'll tell them stories of our nicknames
I'll tell them that I will always love you

I hope you tell your children the stories that mean the world to me
I hope those stories aren't just faint memories
I hope you'll tell your children the stories I remember so vividly
I hope those stories aren't just faint memories

I hope that I will never be a faint memory because you definitely won't be

I'll always love you unconditionally
No matter how much you hate me
