Namjoon let out a dry cough followed by him clearing his throat.
This was awkward.
"Jungwoo, please pass me the beans," Mr. Kim requested.
"It's Jungkook, dad. You know this ...I told you like a hundred times," Namjoon corrected, muttering the last bit.
"Right, right....my bad," Mr. Kim apologised for the hundredth time. Probably won't be the last.
"So...do any of you kids play sport?...or is it just Yoongi?" Mr Kim questioned.
"I do taewondo, sir," Jungkook replied
"Oh....I see...but do you do any sport?"
"Taewondo is a sport dad."
"Yeah but like a real sport."
Namjoon sighed heavily before sending Jungkook an apologetic smile.
"So Yoongi, do you plan on go pro with basketball after high school?"
"That would be preferred if possible Mr Kim. But then again my height..." Yoongi replied respectfully.
"You completely make up for it in skill. I think you have a really good chance of being the next Kim Sunhyung," Mr Kim complimented.
"Oh thank you very much sir. I appreciate you saying that," Yoongi replied, bowing slightly.
Mr Kim nodded with a small smile before turning to the rest of the table.
"So...um...do any of you like any sports team."
"Dad we don't not have to talk about sports all night."
"I don't think we could even if we tried, because only two of us here know the difference between a soccer ball and and a volleyball."
"You're overexaggerating and you know what, Jungkook's pretty good at basketball too."
Jungkook looked up in dismay at the mention of his name.
"Is he on the school's team?"
"Well no-"
"So he's good but not good enough to play with Yoongi and his team?"
"For Pete's sake, not everyone wants to scurry around a wooden floor chasing after a ball. Quite premitive if you ask me," Namjoon retaliated.
Yoongi side eyed Namjoon for that but knew better than to speak up now
"Riiiight cause painting and drawing is sooo sophisticated. Not like cavemen could draw a killer stickman," Mr Kim replied.
Namjoon glowered at his dad, enough to burn holes into the side of his head.
"Why did you even tell me to invite them if you were gonna be this rude?" Namjoon huffed
Jin looked between the two before slowly getting up.
"I gotta go to the bathroom," he quietly excused himself.
"My mom's calling," Taehyung said, waving his phone.
"I think I left my car engine on," Hoseok said.
"Need to stretch a bit," Jimin said.
"Gonna mow the swimming pool," Jungkook was next
"Uh....I'm just gonna...go," Yoongi said, being the last to leave.
Now that it was just Namjoon and his dad, the son turned to his father with crossed arms.
"Why are you acting like this" Namjoon demanded
"Like what?"
"Like this! You knew I had boyfriends and you even suggested them coming over!"
"I only suggested it cause my therapist told me to," Mr Kim huffed.
"Wooooow. So you didn't want to do it?"
"I wanted to do it," Mr Kim mumbled.
"Then what is it? Are you uncomfortable because they're boys?"
"What? No."
"Oh really? Cause it sure seems like it," Namjoon pressed.
"I'm fine with you being gay Namjoon. But that doesn't mean I'll automatically like your boyfriends."
"So this is about you not liking them???"
"I mean...Yoongi seems nice."
"You've barely even spoken to Yoongi! In fact you've barely even spoken to any of them!"
"Well it's kind of hard when there's 6 of them. Is this a dinner with me you and your boyfriend or is it an assembly or something. I don't know! One more boyfriend and you have one for every week day," Mr Kim snapped.
"Oh, so that's what you have a problem with?!" Namjoon snapped back.
"No! Yes! Maybe. Isn't it simpler just to date one?! I don't understand all this new world order nonsense. You date one person! One. That's a relationship."
"Then what do I have with them then?"
"That's my whole point! I don't know."
"Well I'm telling you that what I have with them is trust, mutual care and respect and love! They have been there for me when you weren't! And if you didn't understand that, you should have told me before I invited all of them over for this disaster of a dinner. Now excuse me while I send them home," Namjoon huffed before exiting the dinning room.

"I'm so sorry," Namjoon apologized for the hundredth time, closing the front door behind him.
"It's alright. Really you have nothing to apologize for," Taehyung immediately dismissed.
"But still," Namjoon shook his head
Each one gave the rapper a hug good night, Jin also planted a kiss on his forehead.
"It's fine, seriously. In fact, it went pretty like.... okay," Jimin lied.
Namjoon sent the younger an apologetic and grateful smile.
"I'll see you guys at school tomorrow?" Namjoon asked.
They all nodded in response.
"Drive safely. Let me know when you get home," Namjoon requested.
All of them bid the school president goodnight before making their way to their vehicles.
Jimin ran to catch Hoseok's wrist.
"Hey,can you give me a ride?" Jimin asked, hopefully.
"Sorry I came here with Yoo-" Hoseok began coolly.
But the hiphop dancer was catch off by the sound of a carhorn. Both dancers' eyes snapped to Jin's car pulling out the driveway, Yoongi in the front seat waving goodbye. Taehyung and Jungkook seemed to have already disappeared.
Jimin looked back to the elder with pleading eyes
"Fine," Hoseok huffed before pulling his wrist away and walking towards his car.
Jimin followed happily but also nervous.
