heeseung has been ignoring everyone after what he heard this morning. he felt emptiness and numb.
tonight was their date. heeseung thought maybe he should end things tonight. he needed to end things. he doesn't want to get hurt.
but he likes sunghoon so much. everything they did together meant so much to him.
now here he is, standing in front of sunghoon on his front yard. heeseung wasn't dressed. he was in a t-shirt and sweatpants.
sunghoon looks at him confused.
"why aren't you ready, pretty?" he asked. the nickname was something he was working on for awhile. "or is this a new style you're going with?" he joked.
"sunghoon." heeseung started. "let's end this."
sunghoon's smile drops. "what?"
"let's stop this. this agreement. we've been together for a four months and–"
"so?"
"how about your bet? we need to stop this before it gets too serious." heeseung explained, holding in the tears.
"so you're breaking up with me because of the bet?" sunghoon scoffed.
heeseung feels himself getting frustrated, tears are threatening to come out of his eyes. "it's fake! everything we had, it wasn't real in the first place, sunghoon!"
"what if i want it to be real?" sunghoon stepped closer to heeseung, hands on his sides. "i like you, heeseung." he spoke in a soft tone.
heeseung breaks down in tears. he doesn't want to hear any of it. his ears are starting to ring as drops of water surrounds them.
"you need to leave," heeseung stammered. the rain was getting heavier.
sunghoon didn't budge. he stares deeply into heeseung's eyes and kissed him. heeseung pushed him away.
"just leave sunghoon! i know the truth about your bet!" heeseung was shouting. the rain was loud.
sunghoon looked stunned. "w-what?"
"yes i found out! this morning i overheard you talking with niki. turns out your main bet was to sleep with me." tears wouldn't stop spilling. "and you picked the money over me."
sunghoon's hands fell to his side. "you didn't hear what i said afterwards?"
"i left. i couldn't bare to hear anything anymore."
sunghoon smiles sadly, going to his car and took out something. a big bouquet of roses and in the middle was a blue velvet box. he placed them in heeseung's hands.
"just so you know, i actually picked you."
::
"you're taking too long on this bet?" niki asked. looking at the older worriedly. "are even trying? you won't sleep with him? you had the chance to do it when he was in heat but you didn't?" niki continues.
sunghoon didn't respond.
"the money or heeseung?"
"the money," he paused. "i don't want it. i like him. heeseung's the one i want."
jake smiles, "we knew you couldn't do it."
sunghoon looks at them, surprised. "what do you mean?"
niki giggled. "boi, you couldn't keep your eyes off of him. even before we made the bet, your eyes follows him around whenever he's in the room with us."
"so, what? the bet was to make me realize my feelings for heeseung?"
sunoo nodded. "we were worried that you'd win the bet but you didn't and we're glad to see that you finally admit your feelings for him. niki was so close to crying when he thought you're gonna win."
"so what are you going to do?" asked jungwon.
"i am going to make things official tonight."
::
"that's what happened." sunghoon tells. the rain hasn't stop even during him explaining what had happened this morning.
they sat next to each other on heeseung's first porch. both of them are drying off from standing too long under the rain.
"i'm sorry." heeseung finally spoke after some time sunghoon finished telling his story. "i didn't mean to come to that conclusion." he sighed, covering his face in shame.
"hey. it's okay. it's not your fault, baby." he kissed the omega's temple, rubbing heeseung's back as comfort. he looks at the bouquet he got for heeseung. "give me the bouquet."
heeseung was confused at first but did what he was told. he watched sunghoon taking the velvet box in his hand and opens it, revealing a single earring that he was eyeing on their first date.
sunghoon took the cross earring, "come closer, let me put it on you."
heeseung complied, leaning closer to the younger, he calmly let sunghoon put the earring on his ear. he couldn't tell if he was done until he felt sunghoon's lips on his cheek.
he yelp, flustered. "cut it out! you have to stop doing that!" heeseung whined.
sunghoon emits a chuckles. "but you love it when i do that." he continues to shower heeseung with kisses on his face, enjoying the giggles coming from him.
heeseung pushed away, taking deep breaths. he smiles shyly, not taking his eyes off sunghoon's brown ones. sunghoon took in the sight in front of him; heeseung panting, hair wet from the rain and he looked pretty with one cross earring on one of his ear.
"i like you too, sunghoon." heeseung told so suddenly and abruptly kissed sunghoon on the lips.
"you're gonna be the death of me."
heeseung wonders how he got into this mess and he blames it all at sunghoon, but he's also thankful; without the bet, he wouldn't be here, in sunghoon's arms.
after all, heeseung got himself a real boyfriend.
