" USE AND ABUSE OF LANGUAGE "
Like the humans language live and die, A simple tool for communication, it doesnt have to be speech, Gestures and facial expressions are also considered as language (sign language).
Language is a tool and when something is a tool it can be weaponized. It is not what you say but your delivery. Everyone want to experience great conversation first hand but you have to understand the psychology of language. Your choice of words will determine your fate and it's hard to look pass that. We are fascinated as to how some people become great conversationalist. Before you speak, you listen and the interlocutor repeats thesame pattern and then you create harmony.
How do you abuse language? It's simple, people believe in hierarchy. My language is better than yours and vice versa. There's always going to be quest for dominance and it becomes superficial. People are on edge these days, they want to explose at every minute so, you have to difuse the situation, De-escalate. Why do you think there's so much divide in africa? It's because we use culture, tribe and language as a factor in politics and social relations.
There's so many instances in Africa where language or culture you identify as became a factor for war and genocide , people died along with thier languages and today those languages have no speakers. Enlisted on the world dead languages. It is the strong versus the weak again in the quest for dominance.
One of the greatest things you can do in using language and engaging a conversation is to be positive so the interlocutor feeds off of your energy. You want to use language in a positive way create peaceful dialogues and communication strategies, engage in speech and writing, say please and thank you, always be on the right side. Teach and educate for good so the future generation can use this as a platform.
In the end there's always going to be a question, why we do what we do and this will forever remain a superficial enigma.
